what if your knock sensor is reading 0 all through the pull? is knock unlikely to occur below a certain RPM? does it mean its bad? stock motor and knock tables

So in EvoScan your Knocksum is 0

If your knock tables are stock then thats a good thing

Its generally unlikely that you will NEVER get ANY knock during every WOT pull due to engine harmonics, road noise, ECU anomalies and such.

Widge,
Here are a few pics of where we generally install our knock sensor and the M10x1.25-to-M8x1.25 adapter bolt I offer. I installed it on an Evo that is currently apart at the shop for easier viewing. This is mounted on the front of the engine block, below the exhaust manifold. The location is awesome for picking up even the most minor knock occurances. I generally hit the bung with a file or sandpaper to get the flattest mounting surface possible so I have greater surface area for the sensor and I also chase the threads with a M10x1.25 tap first since that bung isn't used and the threads rust rather quickly. I also put some anti-seize in the hole and toss a cheap bolt in it after I am done so the next time I need it, its all good and ready to go. There are a few spots on the backside of the block too if space is limited up front. I know your happy with your setup but I figure I would share anyways.

We usually slide some DEI heat shield wrap that we use for our dyno straps over it before we run the car and as you can see, the sensor still looks brand new. The price for the adapter is $14.99 USD and shipping/handling is $4.99USD worldwide shipping. PM me if you ever decide to grab one.

If you do find anything, please let me know because we had our machine shop custom make these to our specifications for this application because we couldn't find anything that was exactly what we needed.

10 year bump for updates if any of the original posters from this thread are still around?

I am asking because my ADM 8 has had similar knock issues and it would be good to find the cause.
