Hey guys I'm trying to Read from ECU in my buddys 2005 Evo 8 and the following is happening.

An uknown ROM Image screen pops up with 3 options:

Abort this session
Continue using this rom with no definition
Use wizard to create new definition.

I chose the Create a new definition tab...

3 More options come up:

Define from scratch
Copy from definition below
Inherit from definition below

I have tried both copy and inherit...

I pick 2005 Evo 8 USDM, Common Rom id 96940011.

Adress in hex is F52
Length is 4

Now the IDENTIFIER is 84185028, this is where the problem is...If I proceed foward the rom wont open with all the Fuel,Timing,Limits,Muts etc tables.

Under ROM Info it won't let me change the xml id to 96940011.....

What is going on here guys?

I was able to save it.

Perhaps one of the gurus could figure out what's going on here? I have never heard of this Internal ID

has a text string JM9653 in it, so i would assume it's some version of 9653xxxx rom
try copying your tables from 96530006.xml
i did it and it opens up just fine

perhaps rom id is screwed up to protect rom content from opening within ecuflash
