Hey man I sent you a ticket saying I would love to beta test, I'm already running a 7 in android tab in the car. My ppc stoped working about a week ago and I love that thing, been itching to have a bigger screen and resolution, which honestly were my only complaints about the evoscan pox. Pm me please

Just wanted to confirm that the "Y" cable listed on the evoscan site is basically going to be used to POWER the open port cable. Im assuming this the micro adapter gets plugged into it, the openport into the other end and the 3rd end gets plugs into a usb power supply?

The "Y" cable is just a splitter cable like you would use for headphones when sharing between people. The second cable is so that you can plug it into the "Y" cable to be compatible with your Android devices USB port. There should not be any additional power going through the USB cable than what is already supplied through USB and from the OBD port.

So the USB port from the Openport will plug into the "Y" cable, one side of the "Y" cable male end will plug into the Micro USB adapter, and the other side can be plugged into a laptop or whatever. This is the way that I interpret it from the Evoscan website.

From the Evoscan website so other can see what we are talking about.

USB Y Cable:

OTG Cable:

Note: keep the usb cable as short as possible to reduce the chance of signal loss.
Note: USB is 5volts, and openport usb cable is 5volts.. do NOT apply any higher vehicle voltages.

So the "Y" isnt necessary. I assumed the cable was needed and was being used in place of say a powered hub for the tacttix cable since most mobile android devices can power external devices. I know both my tablet and atrix need power at the usb to rin my external drive.

I'm questioning the Y cable too. I'll have the tactrix cable and my wideband which need to plug into my Android device, so the cable has the plugs around the wrong way? Having it powered will not drain the android device battery and actually charge it thou? So are we needing that Y cable to power it, then if running a wideband, will need a cable with the opposite plugs to split back out again for the wideband and tactrix cable?

it doesn't matter what you, me or anyone here has really.
As long as Hamish doesn't want anyone from his pre-selected test group, it's no point offering to test it.
Darn thing was supposed to be out ages ago and still no show.

Would someone please post the hardware and software requirements to make this work with wired and wireless setup? Preferably from those who have it working. Looking buy evoscan and this is a compelling direction with Android.
