WGDC ? - Boost tuning V7
hi all,
My thick head can't get around this, so bear with me.
I'm trying to tune my boost curve.
The following are zeroed out during process:
BEC
Max upward vs TPS
Desired Load
Boost adder
WG under load 100% ... = 150.
upper and lower correction intervals are set to 1.
Should I assume my WGDC will follow my Main Map WGD?
Log shows wgdc @ 100 until 150 load is passed, say @ 3000 rpm.
If my Main Map WDG is set @ 50 from 3000-4000 rpm.
Why would log show the following from 3 to 4 k
100 @ 150 load
3000 22
.. 22.5
.. 25
..
4000
@ each log record 1.5 is being added.
I would expect my WGDC to follow my Main Map WGD as such
1000
50
50
50
.....
thanks

Some pictures of your maps would help. But with psi-based control, you set the boost adder to the atmospheric pressure of your location. So in load-based control, that number may need to be 100 (for 14.7psi, or lower for your altitude). I havent tried to tune load-based boost yet, so that may be way off base. But it would kindof make sense that you hit 150, then boost control takes over and things get screwy. Also, I dont think there is anything wrong with setting the "WGDC = 100% under this load" to 0. Then put it back to where you think it needs to be after dialing in your wgdc maps. Im willing to bet that if you set it to 0, you wont ever hit 100 that you are currently logging, because the wgdc maps arent set up correctly.

hey tunah, what's up. Hope there's no snow up there yet.
I think I'll give that a shot as far as WGDC 100%.
Keep it @ 0 and see if logged WGDC follows my Main WG Map.
If that doesn't work I'll post up my maps.
Load Correction works as expected. Basically log load and throw the
desired "load" in table along with load adder.
I'll report back.

ok guys, here we go.
raptord,, Logged MAF temp was around 65 F.
i can zero that also, to possibly remove another variable
Keep in mind, I did change WGDC 100 to 0 as per tunah's suggestion. Haven't tested yet.

Correction interval isn't a factor right now since you have correction zero'ed out. From what I see there, yes, the ECU should be simply following your BWGDC map.
Check TPS WGDC correction and max WGDC vs coolant temp to make sure those 2 tables aren't modifying your BWGDC. If TPS WGDC has 50 at WOT then it'll take whatever value is in your BWGDC table and halve it, for example.
Can you also post the log?

what do your boost desired load tables look like?
nevermind...none of that should even matter. youre just trying to get it to run map wgdc.. adder and desired load only work with correction.

Gold Star Raptord.
SOB, that was it. Zeroed it out @ upper temps and no addition to WGDC.
WGDC follows whatever I throw in there.
left vs right

As usual thanks for all your help guys(Raptord / Charlie)
time for a cocktail.
Enjoy you holidays guys
Got myself a little Christmas present. Gonna go on the stock block for few months.
then slap it on to my almost complete 2.4. s/b a rip on the 2.4
