Total NEWBIE question

I purchased ECUFlash and the obd cable and am attempting to load the OBDii Inspection test patch. My ROM ID is 52680017 and its a 2008 EVO X GSR.

When I open the metadata xml file for 52680017, the only thing in the file is this....

<rom>
<romid>
<xmlid>52680017</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>5002A</internalidaddress>
<internalidhex>52680017</internalidhex>
<make>Mitsubishi</make>
<market>USDM</market>
<model>Lancer</model>
<submodel>Evolution X</submodel>
<transmission>5MT</transmission>
<year>2008</year>
<flashmethod>mitsucan</flashmethod>
<checksummodule>mitsucan</checksummodule>
<memmodel>M32186F8</memmodel>
</romid>
<include>52680015</include>
</rom>

Others are MUCH longer, am I doing something wrong. Also, I cant find the code for the patch for force all inspection test to pass for that rom ID.

Please, any help would be awesome, I am new to all of the "tuning" struff....

Thanks guys

You need to upgrade your stock 0015 to the 0017
EDIT: Looks like it is, so you also need to download the definitions for 0015

Same way you got the 0017 definitions. And be sure to put them in same meta-folder. Use these:

When I click on the link for 52680017 it just show what I already have for that file in the metedata folder...

<rom>
<romid>
<xmlid>52680017</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>5002a</internalidaddress>
<internalidhex>52680017</internalidhex>
<make>Mitsubishi</make>
<market>USDM</market>
<model>Lancer</model>
<submodel>Evolution X</submodel>
<transmission>5MT</transmission>
<year>2008</year>
<flashmethod>mitsucan</flashmethod>
<memmodel>M32186F8</memmodel>
<checksummodule>mitsucan</checksummodule>
</romid>

<include>52680015</include>

</rom>

I dont understand the "base file" referencing 52680015. Do I need to copy the xml from that base file (52680015) into my rom id metadata file?

You don't actually need to copy the contents of one file into the other.

Simply ensure that BOTH the 52680017.xml and 52680015.xml are present.

One references ("includes") the other.

Correct. I misunderstood the question, thought you were saying metadata folder, didn't see you put metadata "file".

Ok, I am getting closer. I copied a patch into the 0015 file for the OBD inspection test and can now see that area of the ROM. What table do I need to change in order to set them to "pass"

ok....im getting closer yet, thanks to your help. When I change the hex values, I show all "0"s for available / not avail

and all "1"s for pass / fail.

shouldn't the avail/non avail table show all 1's?

Can I change individual tests so that the tests that dont apply show as such.

If I set a test to "NOT AVAILBLE" like the "SECONDARY AIR SYSTEM" what should the pass / fail table show? 1 or 0

Thanks again, and again, and again....

I don't know any specifics on this patch, you might want to go to the thread that talks about it. I'm not familiar with the 'intended' results, sorry

When you do the OBD Inspection patch, simply change the values in the 3 "Non-Continuous" tables.

Do NOT touch the 2 tables that start with "Monitor".

After you change the 3 tables you are setup correctly.

The Monitor Available table will show all 0's, The Monitor Passed table will show all 1's.

Subscribing. I hooked my tactrix up for the first time last night, and got the same exact thing except mine said 55580005 but nothing else. I downloaded 0006 but my computer wont open it. Now my computer wont even read the ECU, just keeps saying failed. Gonna have my buddy wipe my computer and get rid off all the **** I have on here. Hopefully that fixes it.
