ECUFlash Unknown ROM Image

I downloaded my car ROM and I am unable to view or modify it. When I go to use the wizard to create a new definition to see the ROM ID, it shows 12345678.

If someone can assist me, I can send you my ROM file. I need to modify it for a 3port.

Thanks,

That error means you don't have the definition for that rom in your Ecuflash file folder, update your file folder with all the different definitions out there like Tephra mod files and you should have no problem viewing or modifying your rom.

If you want i can send you a patched version of the Ecuflash folder so you can patch it yourself if you know how to do it.

Even if somebody had a definition file for him it would be of no use if he couldn't read it because he hasn't updated his definition folder.

You can insert single XMLs (definition files) into your rommetadata folder. As long as you get the primary definition file it will define it, if you don't have the secondary XMLs you won't access all the tables.

OP post the ROM up and we can go from there.

Download the TephraMod files from the V7 thread and copy and paste them to your rommetadata folder.

Hey guys I am having the same issue. When i first downloaded the rom from my car, I got the "UNKNOWN ROM" error but i saved it and ECUFlash saved the file as an SRF file. So I then downloaded the TephraMOD XML files and installed them in this location, C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo. Now I am trying to open the SRF file that ECUFlash saved and I am still getting the "UNKNOWN ROM" error. What am I doing wrong? Do i need to rename the TephraMOD XML files, or do i just need to reconnect to the ECU and download it again with the TephraMOD XML files already installed in my romdata folder?

Ok here is what I saved from EcuFlash.

Ok so i tried to upload the file as it is (an SRF file) and I can't because this forum says its an invalid file type. Do I need to change it to an XML file?
