Yes I know, but not on both my laptops. I cant log either... It must be something with my laptops, but what it is and how to fix it is the big question ?
After installing software, do you just click the DPInst.exe in the OP2.0 folder to install drivers?

Had same problem a while ago and just reinstalled evoscan recently.
I got evoScan working but I installed EcuFlash 1st before evoscan.

Try
1. Uninstall evoscan and/or ecuflash (if you have it/both)
2.Install ecuflash/ latest version from tactrix website
3. Install evoscan.

The drivers should install automatically when you install the program, I chose to install ecuflash before evoscan because thats what worked for me to get it going.

Goodluck.

Thanks
I have tried it once, but can try once more. I am running XP if that matters?
Should I buy a new laptop running Windows 7?

Well it seems like the OpenPort2.0 is not the right cable for EvoScan on a Evo 8. After what I can see, I have bought wrong cable... Just ordered a 1.3U Hope it works out when it arrives
Thanks

By the looks of it, the OP2.0 cable you have should work fine and it looks like its a driver related issue.

You could try this:
Go to>
c:\windows\inf\
and do a windows search "inf" and all those files in that folderv with a .inf extension should show up.
now you want to delete just those specific inf files that were installed by evoscan with the name "oem16" etc etc so it should say something like oem16.inf (if the extension is shown).
If your unsure if its evoscan related, the date and info should guide you when it was installed.

On my pc I found oem10.inf oem11.inf oem12.inf oem14.inf.
I deleted those inf files ONLY and then reinstalled the ecuflash installer (found at the tactrix website)

I hope that will work for you if your keen to get it going without having to wait for your 1.3u cable to arrive.

Remember x86 means 32bit windows, and x64 means 64bit version of windows.
You can find out which version you have by right clicking on "My Computer" in the start menu and clicking on the "properties" tab

And evoscan should work with ALL versions of XP, as stated on the site.

Here are the links for the evoscan driver stuff from the site at the bottom under driver installation issues.

I dont think I want to spend more time trying to get online with the ecu with the 2.0 cable...

Also, the DTC feature only works on 2.6 (least for me) and its picky. To get it to work, you have to open Evoscan and then quickly press the DTC check button to check them. If you do anything else, it wont work. And to remove them, you have to restart Evoscan again and quickly press the clear DTC button.
I tried this and got the same error message...has anyone been successful in checking and clearing dtc's using evoscan v2.9/openport 2.0?

Suddenly my 1.3U cable got offline also...
I spoke with Hamish (Evoscan), and he told me to ship the cable back to him and so I have done. While I spoke with Hamish some days later to ask him to ship me a new cable while mine was in transit because I had the car on the dyno, I told him that I never got my OP 2.0 to connect to my car. He logged onto my computer from the other side of the world and checked some things and said that mine cable looked fine. He suggested to bench test my ecu. So today I built a harness and powered up the ecu and OP 2.0 cable and got online immediately both with Evoscan and Ecuflash
So the problem is in my harness somewhere between the obd2 port/flash connector and the ecu. Have not had time to rule out which cable yet, but I am very happy and thankful to Hamish for the excellent support and service he have given me, even when I am located at the other side of the globe (Norway). I have called him multiple times and he have always taken the time to speak and help me
You cant go wrong dealing with that guy
Thanks
