Tactrix Won't Install on Windows 8
No it would not work. Windows 8 RT is a completely different from Windows 8 Pro in that it's built for ARM RISC processors. The same type of processors android and iphone/ipad/ipod touch use. A new driver AND application needs to be written to work on Windows 8 RT.
i just bought a Toshiba Satellite 2 in 1, so guessing it's running tablet software. anyway, my windows 8 will not recognize my serial > usb nor tactrix cable. i've uninstalled/reinstalled as well as manually installed the drivers. bummer because i bought this laptop just specifically for tuning. now i have go to my mom's to borrow her gigantic Windows 7 laptop LOL

This might have to do witn signed / unsigned drivers. Pls. follow this procedure and let me know, thanks.
Another issue might be onboard security in the BIOS / UEFI. But this limitation should be for OS-installation only.

update: after a fresh EcuFlash install, the drivers were recognized on my laptop. i'm running Windows 8.1.
i had to purchase a new serial>usb cable, as my old one had a chipset not compatible with 8.1. that was a bummer but less than $15, so i just had to wait on it.
i can now log and flash all day long.
i had to uninstall, restart, reinstall, restart. but it sounds like you have other issues?
