Merlin, any updates so far?
I tried yesterday with a version that has all of the available ALS activation parameters tuned to be unobtainable, but the logs show that it is still randomizing the timing from sub 2000rpm to 3500rpm. I did find that the part throttle acceleration was now less notchy, but not completely smooth.
I'm at a loss here, where should I look next? The funny thing is that FAA bit.10, if disabled, fixes this acceleration bug, but introduces a jumpy cruise as mentioned above.
I transferred all of my settings to a 8859 as well, I might need to give that a go next.

I accidentally ran into this thread ignition retard and decided to give it a go. I zeroed #2 and put -2 (-1,9) to #1 and this pretty much fixed my timing randomization. I still get variance according to the #1 value, but if I zero that out as well I should be good to go. My AFR's still get a .5 richer in the same area where the timing goes haywire and right after it goes .5 lean, but I can for now live with it since it doesn't knock
My question is, are these values used somewhere for safety and did I just by accident hose myself in the long run?
I do wish that Tom could have fixed this in the first place, but apparently it wasn't an issue to him. And after inquiring about a possible fix, a year later after educating myself about the inner workings of the ECU, by transitioning to a ROM that doesn't have any ALS functionality I would incur a full retune fee. Hence I'm troubleshooting this by myself.
