So now I use the R cable for evoscan and the 2.0 the ecuflash. The 1.3u will do everything that my R cable and my 2.0 do but it will do it with ONE cable.
Huh? Edit your rom with the latest ecuflash, save it as a hex, and flash it with evoscan. The 1.3R cable works fine, that's what I have. I had a 2.0 but got tired of not being able to pull codes with it, so I sold it and went back to the R cable.

Evo 8-9 = 1.3-based cable
Evo 10 = 2.0.

Because I am extremely impatient and the 2.0 will flash my ecu with ecuflash in like 10 seconds and when I try and flash with evoscan on my computer at least it takes like 5 minutes to complete the flash. When you're modding fuel maps and iscv tables a lot dialing stuff in waiting for 5 minutes for each flash to test your changes is a huge pain in the ****. I hate flashing with evoscan. It's like zzzzzzz is this freaking done yet????

That's very strange. I just did a tune tonight and flashing was so fast through evoscan. I do both ecuflash and evoscan and they seem the same to me.

I do notice though, it depends on what is being modified in the rom and how many different tables. Changes like latencies or iscv flash a lot quicker than timing and fuel maps. If you do a completely different rom then it takes some time.

Maybe its just my laptop or the drivers or something but no matter what I mod in my Rom if I use evoscan I can take a nap and come back and its finally done haha. But ecuflash is a breeze. Literally 10 seconds.

Whatever it is, you figured out what works best for you. That's the most important thing.
I'll be getting a 2.0 for the other cars I'm tuning. I'm holding off until either the hardware or software works with 2011 & up Evo X without bench flashing them.

I use the 1.3r and ecuflash 1.38 without any issue running Tephra 88592715 rom.

Yeah, I originally had the 1.3u. In fear of the cable breaking after all the years of use I got rid of it in favor of a newer cable.
