Evoscan with Surface Pro 2

Since evodroid is slower than molasses on a mid winter day... does anyone run surface pro 2 with evoscan? If so are there any problems with it? Any conflicts? Is it JUST as good as a laptop? Thinking about hardmounting a surface pro 3 to the car.

it should work much like any laptop running windows 8.1 only downside is you only have 1 usb. but shouldn't matter if you log afr and boost using the ecu. plus usb hubs are cheap anyway.

surface pro2 is too expensive.. the latest EvoDroid7 Dual Core are amazingly super fast!!! not like the old Evodroid7. I have both and I find that I struggle to keep my surface pro2 charged via the 300W inverter I have connected to it.

I have the surface pro2 sits on my lap whilst tuning.. I had to use the keyboard for ecuflash map editing because I have to press the +/- to change the values etc. not too much different to my laptop in the end.

can anyone let me know what com port is the Surface pro using for USB? I have attempted to log with my Surface Pro 3 with evoscan v2.5 and it allows me to engage "Link engage" but most of the important values are not being recorded.

I'm thinking its one of two things:

-EvoScan v2.5 does not support Windows 8.1
-I am using wrong com port.

Just seeing if anyone else ran into this issue.

I am using Evoscan 2.5 with windows 8.1 just fine. also why aren't you using EvoScan v2.9?

also why are you using a com port? everything is usb based these days. None of my stuff uses com ports. all are using USB drivers. and evoscan uses ft2xx.dll which uses direct USB IO tranfsers.

I had a Asus T-100 and getting it work consistently with either evoscan or ecuflash was such a headache I gave up. I was in driver hell. Would not recognize the tactrix cable 95% of the time. Just gave the laptop/tablet to my daughter.

I build gauge clusters/double dins that are full windows computers

Autocrossn......Why don't you start a tread on building the ultimate windows 8 or 10 double din Evo 8, 9 set-up. I'm very interested in this. I'm ready with the double din faceplate and the climate control relocation faceplate.....Anybody want to but my triple MR gauge pack and factory radio with 15k miles on them?

I dont have any evo clusters... to test/mess around with
The double dins were originally to expensive for the dsm crowd were i am from $500+
But some new tech has came out to where I can make a double din for around the $300 range.

The double din can run evoscan also.. i just didnt take a picture.
Its a full windows machine same as a laptop
