I tried my best to search, this is probably something stupid, but I have never seen this before in my years of ecuflash.

I don't use ecuflash often but here is my scenario.

Last year I tuned my evo9 on Tephra v7, at that time I had a windows 8 computer, I didn't have any issues, I'm not 100% sure which version of Ecuflash I was using. 1.43 maybe.

Today, my computer was reimaged, and put back to factory.. so I lost everything on it.
I redownloaded the latest ecuflash and read my rom from the ECU.
But it saves as a .srf structured file, and it says some definitions are not recognized.
I resaved as ".bin" and the same error comes up for definitions not recognized.

Obviously my current ROM works, I'm driving my car, but what is happening here?
Why can't I get ECUflash to read my ROM file?

... I wanna alter my maps, clean up some things I didn't do last year while tuning.

Sorry I couldn't find my answer via searching..... I'm sure someone will post a link to solve my problem.

 

Sounds like you just forgot to copy the tephra v7 xml definitions to the rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo folder after reinstalling EcuFlash.

 

So I have the newest version of ecuflash and evo scan. Tephra v7. the tactrix cable and the 1.3u from evoscan. I can connect to the ecu through evoscan for logging with both cables. But still cant read the the rom from ecuflash or evoscan. I know that you are suppose to be able to do it from evoscan, i have seen the instructions on youtube and they were doing it there with no issues. My car has been tuned by a reputable tuner, but as far as I can tell, I have all the available Roms installed per the instruction the link above sends you to. What's going on here? May be relevant or irrelevant, but I am doing this all from my mac using parallels and windows 10
