Cold start

Factory ECU tuned Evo's, do they have cold start issues? My brother is looking into purchasing an Evo and the owner stated his has a cold start issues. If so how can that issue be fixed?

No.
If there is nothing mechanically wrong then it could be tuned to crank proper even in Alaska.

No issues for me, maybe he was on E85 but any issues can be tuned out essentially.

Thanks for the reply. I think the best thing to do is not consider this car.

Tell the owner to get with TScomp and have it tuned to crank properly in the cold and then sell it.

If it has cold start issues, it's either poorly tuned, a bad IACV or a combination of both.

Simple fix.
