"ROM not recognized by current definitions" (abort, save, and make new definition)

So I installed ecuflash today and unboxed my tactrix cable. I was able to download the ROM onto my laptop but after it was finished I received the message:

"ROM not recognized by current definitions" (abort, save, and make new definition)

I chose save, and used ".hex" file extension.

This is a 2006 IX MR, USDM car.

Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

I think I figured it out using this:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ml#post7252550

I chose "make new definition" and used "inherit". The next step told me 88590715. I googled for "88590715.xml and found an xml file which I copied and put into the program files directory for metadata. When I opened up my rom again the next time after restarting ecuflash everything came up fine.

Did I do this right?

Sound like you did it right. The XML ID sounds like a its a tephra rom. Car has been tuned.

You are correct, car was tuned (several times might I add, but not by me)

I have confirmed that I did do it right (talked to my tuner)

Thank you - this gave me the confidence I needed to proceed.

What through me for a loop was that I needed to "inherit" the value from another Evo9 rom in order to read the rom ID. Once I did that I was able to download the xml file from google and put it in the folder for metadata. Without that I would have been screwed.
