Wont Read DTC Mitsu OBD1

Ive been trying to read the DTC on my car. Its a 90 Mitsu Galant GS-X. I have the 12 pin connector and I can start a log with no issues. When trying to find DTC I have the MUTII EFI 90-99 selected. It reads the ECU but give a init time out error. Anything to fix this. I have tried to cycle power and that doesn't work.

why don't you use the ''conventional'' way of using a multitester or LED light connected to the harness 12-pin OBDI connector?

Thats the old school way of doing it. I could also grab my palm III and read the DTC. The goal was to be able to use 1 device for my galant GS-X (stock) and my Galant VR4 (G4 VR4link).
