A little more information will help people help you

1. Attach the .SRF file you downloaded
2. What year, market and transmission is your evo X

Save it as a .bin and open using a hex editor. You then have to go to the line corresponding to your romid. If you attach your .srf it would be helpful.

Hi, I am Eneko from Basque Country.
I have an X MR and I recently bought the Tactrix 2.0 with Ecuflash.

I tried to read the ECU but I had the same "error" (Unknown ROM image). I think that the problem will be that there is not a correct XML file in the Rommedata folder.

Can someone help me??

ECU HW part number: 1860A982
ECU SW part number: 1860A98203

2008 EVO X MR (SST Transmision) EUROPEAN

Thanks.

Hello,
Read the file from your ECU, then select "continue using ROM image ...", save it to your PC and send to me, I'll assist you in identifying it.

There are many people in this community who can find a ID from a ROM, and can create the definition for the ROM if it does not exist.
So if you like, attach the ROM to the next post so that you can share the results and help others.

Good morning,

I went to the garage and read the ECU. I have obtained the .bin file and I have opened with a Hex editor.

I think that the XML file that I need is the next one: 53050109.xml (Is it correct??)

Can someone send me a correct XML file please?

Thanks a lot!!!

Looks like you could get the rom image following GeoMitsu's clear explanation.
You're right. It's a 53050109.

Since it's a TephraXMOD V1 rom, you need 2 .xmls.

1. Download 53050009.xml from ripnet.(If you don't have an evo10base.xml, downlowd it.)
2. Download TephraXMOD-53050109.xml(it includes 53050009.xml) from here.
3. Paste both of them into your 'ecuflash/rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo/' folder.

Thanks @crimson red

When I have some time at home I´m going to try. At this moment I´m working at the factory.

When I have pasted both XML files in the folder, the next step is to read again the ECU. This time I will obtain a correct ROM.

Once I have the original ROM of my vehicle, then I can start doing small modifications.

You have already got a correct rom. It is the rom image you posted here. No need to read rom again.
Paste the definitions into your folder and just open the rom image you attached by ecuflash. Ecuflash would show the maps.

Once I have the original ROM of my vehicle, then I can start doing small modifications.
Your rom is not a stock. 53050109 is a patched rom made by tephra.
Also as far as seeing the maps of the rom image you attached, your rom has already modified.
IMHO you should first back the modified maps to stock and then start to modify it.
For example Load 0-20 area of the 'High Octane Timing Map' has already modified.
Timing -20 for high range of engine speed(RPM) is not good even if low loads.(Accoring to enekosport, it's for pop and bangs.)

Many thanks! Finally I can open the ROM.

As you have said, is true that my soft has a very little change. I have the Tephra V1 installed by a friend so I have a dual map.
One map is stock and the other has timing -20 (for pop and bangs). The only difference between both maps is this thing. I think that the maps are exchanged (stock will be map 1 and timing -20 map 2).

One last question and I don't bother you: the map1 is the principal that appears on the left part of the screen and the map2 (alternative) is one that I have coloured in red?

So I can change between them with the cruise button.
