Missing ROM ID in 0x5002A location?
Hopefully this hasn't been asked a billion times, but I have the ROM I pulled off of an Evo I just bought that came with a few mods, and ran into a problem trying to get it's ROM ID. I opened the file in a hex editor and went to 5002A, and all the surrounding values are all FF. I did a quick google search and someone mentioned opening the rom using the Wizard option in ECUFlash, and selecting a different ROM as a template and I got: 52680122
That made me find another post on here that mentioned that it was a 52680022 ROM ID, but is a Tephra modded definition file. Thats cool and all, but I want to see what address the wizard is pulling this value in the file. So I searched for "52680122" in the hex editor and it pointed me to the address of 50141. Is this expected? Why is it there, and not located to the normal location (5002A)
One more question, if anyone can help me out. The car has a full exhaust, stock intake, and I have no clue if what injectors/fuel pump it has at the moment (hoping stock for stock.) Would it be better to just buy a new ROM from tephra, and start over, or try to figure out how to get into my current ROM and start from there? I obviously don't mind buying the new ROM, but I'm just curious if I can link my current ROM's modifications to the new one that I will purchase.
Thanks!
