Ecuflash using mapsensor w/o piggyback possible?

Although the original ecu is designed for mass air is it possible to develop a code for ecuflash that will allow the stock ecu to accept a map sensor and iat sensor without a piggyback?

Once the entire rom is reverse engineered, Its certainly possible for someone to do it.. Will it happen? Well, nobody can say. I do have to keep reminding people that Speed Density is just not all that great.. having a MAF makes for much better drivability.. At this point your probably better off buying something that can offer the feature to convert it to a MAF Karmann signal..

So for example just purchasing a maft pro to convert to map and leaving settings at zero and just tuning in ecu flash.

yeah but with the maftpro you get:

Target AFR
Target AFR For alky
Fuel Trim for alky
Can make fuel adjustments without a laptop
etc...

ecuflash+maftpro is an awesome combo

This is how our shopcar is tuned via ECUTEK reflash.

You have to ADD a lot of fuel with the conversion.

Why is that, does converting over to map make the car run leaner?

Its just the way it translates the maf signal to a simulated signal. You have to richen the maps to be able to zero out the MAFTPro. Otherwise you just richen the V/E tables or add fuel by rpm.
