Well, Today I got a CEL on my Evo IX with the JDM MAP sensor. I am using the updated instructions. I was driving on surface streets and was cruising in 4th or 5th gear when I noticed the CEL come on.

The code is P0401, insufficient EGR flow. The car ran normally after the code was triggered. I did not notice any difference in driveability. I cleared the code with my reader. I will update thi thread if it happens again.

Yep, the JDM MAP sensor does seem to be triggering the P0401 on some people's Evo 9s. I have been digging deeper into the ROM code. I've found some overlooked settings that are related to MAP sensor fault checks that I intend to introduce into the Evo 9 instructions, but I am still on the hunt for the exact routine that is used to perform the EGR performance check.

I noticed a quirk yesterday. On cold start the RPM shoots up and sits higher than it did with the USDM map sensor.

I will see if it keeps doing it and will try and log it.

I was getting the 0401 code. I just disabled the EGR test altogether. No more code.

How do you disable the EGR test?

I think that it compares the MDP sensor reading with the Baro sensor reading. I was getting the 0069 and 0401 code before the JDM map sensor. That was due to the MAFT Pro replacing the baro sensor and giving the ECU a constant 100kPa reading. That value didn't match the MDP sensor reading so it threw those codes. I disabled the Barometric test and got rid of the 0069, but the 0401 didn't go away until I disabled the EGR test altogether.

Yep, but that doesn't really matter unless you want to be all organized and junk.

Just in case other people are looking at this, I want to add that the stock value will be different for an Evo 8, and the disable value may cause other things to happen on an Evo 8.

I like stuff organized...Do you know how I can place the ECU Periphery2 table right under or above the ECU Periphery4?

I looked in the xml file and I could not find the code for the ECU Peripehry2 defined table. I have noticed that if you define the table by right clicking the Rom in Ecuflash there is no corresponding code that appears in the xml file being used. If you insert the code in the xml file, however, then you will see the table when you open the Rom in Ecuflash. I wonder why that happens?
