Just because its not knocking doesn't mean its not. E85 and Meth hide knock. You have to look at mbt.

ok, I'm a noob. I fitted a 18psi actuator before I started increasing boost and just fitted it. I didn't set pre-load. It only ran to 14psi off the actuator and it was slow to spool up. I saw the video on FP's site on how to set it, so hope its the same as my actuator. I did 3 full turns in from when it fitted fine.

well im about done for now.

smoothed the top a tad since this screen grab. running 4* at peak torque and 17* at 7200, 37* at cruise for easy passing while staying in vacuum (nice 25mpg with a bad front o2). Occasional 1 count of knock, car consistently makes 330/300 on VD on peak of 24psi.

according to my wideband im running 11.9ish afr, more than likely a tad off though. got the idc's up to 102 and couldnt dropt it any. time for 1050's, a fuel pump and o2 housing and up the boost.

What peak load are you hitting? What turbo and peak boost? You can probably take out the load cells above 300 or 310 and add some resolution to the spoolup areas 100-180. Other than that it doesn't look too bad. Just try to smooth it out a little more and maybe get rid of that big block of 7s. Also, make sure there are no areas where timing is going up, down, and then back up again.

its stock turbo. Max load calc shows 245ish max.

6* at peak boost and 11* by 7500..

220 load - 5250 rpm - value 12
200 load - 5500 rpm - value 12 .. just saw these... will fix em!

wow posting here makes it clearer.. i need to go sleep

Need to know, ive seen maps with 3's 2's and 1's in the high load areas. What are those for?

What fuel are you on evo_g8? 6° at peak load might be a bit harsh on the motor if it's on pump gas.

holy **** you need resolution in the 100-180 range!

you dont need anything above 320, and get rid of the 310.

i would go down to 4-5* during peak load to be on the safe side.

what is your boost at redline?

quick question, what fuel are you running with this map?

no, it looks great. i was just wondering for comparison to my own map. im trying to find how high i should push my timing in the high rpms.

im running 91, but my 6000 ft altitude allows me to run a little more aggressive timing than 91 at sea level, but i do travel to sea level, so im trying to find a map that is safe at sea level too.

the only thing is that my car is very resistant to knock. it ONLY knocks in the 6600-6900 rpm range, but that is regardless of if im running 11* or 18*, it just knocks 2 counts.

this is on stock block, stock turbo, pretty much all the bolt ons. peak 23.5psi tapering to 16 psi

Rather, i find that your timing map looks different than ive been seeing trend in maps, call it a bit chunky. is that still in progress?

ive gathered from this thread that a smoother more transitioning shape is better, although my implication may be wrong you'll see., granted im on big maps
