New FIC 1250cc on 93 and E85 - Latencies

For those of you with large turbos wanting to run E85 with the new FIC 1250s:

93 Oct
Scale: 1271
4.7v - 4.8
7.0v - 2.4
9.4v - 1.896
11.7v - 1.368
14.1v - 0.96
16.4v - .744
18.7v - .456

E85
Scale: 860
4.7v - 4.8
7.0v - 2.4
9.4v - 1.896
11.7v - 1.368
14.1v - 0.96
16.4v - .744
18.7v - .456


This should get you squarely in the ballpark.

Awesome, how does she idle?? Notice any differences compared to more mild (smaller) injectors other then the obvious?? Great info I am sure it will help me in the future, thanks.

I've only had them in since yesterday afternoon, but I have them pretty much dialed in where scaling and latencies are concerned, and I have no issues. They seem to be ok.

0.12 ms at 18.7 V is not realistic for that injector. I suppose it doesn't matter because no car should be running at 18.7 V, but still I had to say it. I did some bench top latency measurements for FIC several months back. I tested a series of Delphis with a range of different flow rates. Some were definitely higher flowing than my FIC 1050s. What I found was that the higher flowing Delphis had higher latency values across the entire voltage range.

Hmmmm, yes, I agree. In fact, on second look, I don't know where I came up with that figure. It may very well be the result of a careless entry on my part. I see that I have it set as 0.456 ms in my latest map, so I probably just mistyped it.

I've corrected the initial post.

Ted B....how are these scaling for E-85 looking like now a days? Are the fuel trims pretty decent?

The fuel trims are spot on, but the car does not start so cleanly on E85, and this is greatly exacerbated in very cold weather. I've started increasing the latency in lower voltages for the purpose of determining if this improves start-up quality, while taking note of the slope between data points in mrfred's plot. When I can have it start in either hot or cold weather without having to touch the pedal, I'm satisfied.

Cool cool....I tried the values provided here on my car and the feedback was hovering around +20

Is your MAF rescaled with these scaling/latency values?

For the cold starts, have you tweaked the IPW adder yet? That is what makes a huge difference on cold starts with E85.

btw, are these the BlueMax 1250's?

I've gotten my trims down to almost zero using these #s as a base on E85, thanks TedB. I will post what i'm using when i get home. I am however having a tough time with warm starts, say after the car has been sitting for about 20 minutes, and the cold start is better but not gone. I also have a strange dip in neutral down to about 500rpm. if feels like the car runs a little rich and is bogging. this happens when i'm going from cruise and shift into neutral to prepare for a stop up ahead. anyone got any ideas? I'd like to not have to adjust the latencies anymore as i think my throttle response is perfect.

oh yeah i between shifts i get a power cut sometimes. again i think im running rich for that split second and missing. All this is on E85

Has anyone taken care of the warm start issues when running these bigger injectors? I have adjusted the IPW for cold starts, but it is the warm starts that are giving me trouble.
