P0304 Misfire Detected - Cylinder 4.

I have been getting this code for a while. Just did plugs thinking this would fix it, but no dice.

Is this the sign of a bad coil or something else? 96530006 rom, tephra 5.10. PTE 1000cc injectors, stock plugs, stock gap.

is this related to the P0300 code people get? I have never had that code.

.27 or .28 I believe.. same as what was in there before. I thought of gapping them down, but the code always seems to show up at low/partial throttle, never while WOT.

They are all gapped the same, and the code always comes up on #4... thats what makes me think it is a bad coil. Bad injector seat is possible, but when I did injectors a couple months ago, I had all new seats and orings.. no fuel smell.

Is the base gasket that seals the injector to the head in good shape?

yes... I assume you mean the gasket between the intake manifold and injector? these were brand new.

one of the injector "shrouds" that extends pass the nozzle tip was cracked off... wish I remember which cylinder that injector got put on. could this be it??

if it was a coil chances are you would detect it on 2 different cylinders randomly. Wasted spark homes!

I didn't even think of that injector surround!

Yes I had this code and it turned out to be a bad 1000 cc injector. I moved #4 injector to number 2 and code changed to 302.

Another thing that can cause this is Faulty flash

I'll move the injector and see if the code follows with it. If it is the indeed the cracked injector shroud thingy, can you buy these or do you have to send your injectors in to get fixed?

Don't think it is a faulty flash/bad rom because it popped up all of a sudden without any ECU changes.

I failed to see the cracked "thingy" you mention. Odds are this is it.

Good Luck
