Speed Sensor OBDII (P0500 code) fault

Has anyone had or seen a P0500 Speed Sensor code pop up when checking for OBDII faults???

It seems that ABS, Speedo, Rev's work and I don't have a CEL.

I've reset the ECU numerous times but it keeps re-appearing. I've even spoken to Mitsubishi but they haven't heard of the Speed sensor failing before.

The only reason I checked for codes was after i flashed Tephra v7 with the gear based boost, my boost was fluctuating up and down and didnt know where to go. This boost issue does not happen with any other rom (97250001 & 96260007) with same settings but the OBDII fault code is still present. Maybe the P0500 fault is the reason for boost fluctuation in v7?

Anybody have any ANY ideas??

the speed limit defencer would be sitting in between the cut speed wire thats all, just cut out the box and join the 2 wires. Theres only 4 there, 2 are going to power ground, the other 2 are joining the speed sensor wires.

Yellow - Speed sensor wire to ECU
White - Speed Sensor wire to loom
Black - Earth
Red - 12V ignition feed

no need to pay an electrician mate if you have some common sense.

yeah i know, i had a look at the connections last night after i downloaded the install instructions and it took me 5mins to unplug the cursed device (its personal, hehe) and reconnect the original wires. Quick test drive/log and SPEED is now logging!!
Now i can flash v7 over and hopefully this would have solved my boost issue with the gear based setup... from a slightly different angle, damn these HKS SLD's are pricey!
