Winter driving conditions in Germany?

Next month I have to go TDY to Vilseck for a couple weeks and got a question about the road conditions.

I know its German law to have winter tires. Is it really that bad down there? It rarely snows here so I never really needed any. My current tires have plenty of wet grip but dunno about ice ect.

winter tires are an absolute must for driving in Germany whether there is snow or not. Any accident caused by you due to inadequate tires will pose a steep liability. All seasons are okay for driving. I do have winter tires for sale if you need them

Hey mump your better off renting a car to come over her. Trust me it will save your evo. Over here in the Graf/Vilseck area the roads are often black and cant drive more the 10 mph on them. Trust me i just got the blue Beast back.

I am in Bamberg, it isn't bad here. I understand all season tires will do. Graf and Vilseck are about an hour away, and oh btw one Evo and one Subie on this post, THAT'S IT

Man that sucks only having 1 Evo and Subie, Here in Vilseck I spotted 1 VIII Yellow, 1 IX Red with aftermarket wing, 1 VIII black, 1 IX RS red, 1 VIII Silver, 2 WRXs and 1 Black 06 STI. OldSchoolEVO if your still in Vilseck, I got the Graphite Grey IX with the VII tails (I am the only one with a GG IX w/ VII tails) if you see me driving around just flag me down if you want to chat.

well i'll be here for another week. I've seen plenty of scoobies but only two evos. Although I do love that black WRX with the raised factory wing but if i spot you i'll try to flag you down. I'll be the one in the purple caravan with belgian plates
