Germany Evo owners
they can be pretty nasty. count on road closures and the like. black ice is also a problem around here. i know that vilseck gets nasty cold and the snow will make you not want to do ****. if i were you, i would save up for a 1k beater so this way you can let your evo sleep during the winter. i drove mine around baumholder when i got it january 2012. it rusted the "new" exhaust and caused some bolt siezures. nothing too big but your going to want to be prepared.
where i was stationed this last time, bauholder, it was utterly nasty. then again, baumholder is on top of a mountain, unlike vilseck. the housing area in vilseck aint bad, and you have a 15 minute or less drive to a pretty big px. the city is ok, your close to nurnberg (which is NOT where the nurnbergring is) and that city is huge and perfect for sightseeing.

i plan on driving mine this winter. the past few years have been a little hectic to say the least. i'm not really sure how this winter is going to be either but judging by this past summer we may be in for one hell of a winter (bring it on).
I'm planning on getting a beater to save my car. It's always nice to be able to drive around in something else and keep the Evo for a fun car. Can't wait to get out there, but not looking forward to winters again.
Im not aware of any e85 in the immediate area. The quality of pump here isnt bad. I am very picky when it comes to parts or fluids, and I am satisfied with it. If you want to go off post and buy the German gas then it is going to be more expensive. To fill up the evo off post would probably be a little more than $100. I dont know the current gas prices because I am deployed right now, but it is probably not too much different from when I left.
So is your evo still basic mods? What plans do you have for it? I have a bunch of parts and I have quite a few evo/ sti friends in the surrounding areas with parts as well. And we all know our way around cars, so if you need any work done then let us know. My friend an I can get a clutch done from start to finish on an evo in under 4 hours. (He also has an EB IX?)

I think I just threw up at over $100 to fill up, good lord...
Still basic mods and don't plan in doing much with it other than suspension stuff in the future. Depends on if I'm able to find a house with a garage. Are you guys doing 9 or 12 months? I really wanted to deploy again when I got over there.
