Engine builder in Germany

Having AMS ship a 2.3L shortblock next month but need a reputable shop than can remove and reinstall the block. Anyone know of a good place?

I live in the Spangdahlem area but I'm willing to travel a few hours if necessay. Not Berlin though, too far!

Are you willing to try and do it yourself?

While yes, it is A LOT of work, when your done you'll know your car inside and out. The hard part is building the engine (which is already done for you).

I say, download the manual http://www.evoscan.com/vehicle-manuals, save your hard earned money and give it a shot yourself

If I had the tools and space to do it, I absolutely would.

Thanks for the link to the manual.

Sure thing

Also, here is a shop that is friends with AMS in the USA. Owners name I believe is Paul Dziubek. I think two links are the same company. Not sure if they are close to you or not.

Yet another reason why I miss the States....fixing the Evo would be a piece of cake. Unfortunately, I can't speak or read German

I Googled the address and it's a pretty good distance away. Was hoping somebody from Ramstein, Mannheim, Koln or Trier could point me in the right direction. Even Wittlich would be great!

I'd hate to have to travel all the way to the UK to get this done...

i tried to support a local shot that does awesome fab work but the price would've cost me nearly double for the same back home.

As stated a few times in this Euro section, Steffen can do it. His contact info is on Buschur's vendor page. He is relatively close to you...near Giessen.

Looks like he's in Wiesbaden, just outside of Frankfurt...perfect. Thx. Ironically enough, I decided to go with a Buschur block instead if AMS. Might save some money on shipping.

Roughly the same traveling distance from Spangdahlem. Shouldn't be a problem.

Good find, I was at spangdahlem from 04-06 and couldn't find a shop at all. I felt completely hopeless over there trying to do the work myself at the hobby shop on base lol

The hobby shop here is a joke. They've ripped me off on two occasions and have cost me thousands, not to mention their subpar customer service......never again.

If your getting the shortblock shipped and all you need to do is remove your head and put it on the new block that really isnt hard, just time consuming pulling the old motor out...Can you PM me on how they are shipping it APO box or some other international service?

thanks
