CBRD tuned my Stock Turbo VIII

This tune was done on CBRD's Mustang Dyno with no correction. The weather was cold (~35ºF) and dry. My mod list is in my signature. Chad did the tune.

I also wanted to say that my experience at CBRD was fantastic. Caleb and Chad were great, and the shop was incredibly clean. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

The previous owner of my car got it tuned somewhere else (I won't say where) and it was running very lean. It was also giving a knock count of ~10 at high RPM. As you can see, after evening out the A/F Chad turned up the boost (which is what I was looking for) and retuned it. On a street run afterwards, there were only a few sporadic 1 or 2 knock counts at WOT. Nothing consistent or worrisome. So I now have a safer, more powerful tune. Chad also improved my idle as it was a bit low and unruly at parking lot speeds. The car is much more smooth there now.

My plan is to leave the engine alone for a while and do some autocross this summer and figure out what mods to do next summer (Chad gave me a few recommendations after the tune). If I can manage to drive pretty well this summer maybe I'll talk myself into getting a BBK for next year!

nice gains over a previously "tuned" car

was knocking 12-15 counts at 6500 and dropping Octane to 96%

no knock now, and more boost

we have been retuning and working on lots of cars from this other facility recently, glad we can get people on the right track.

LOL. You won't get the response you are looking for from CBRD. He doesn't throw anyone under the bus.....

Even if they deserve it. I give the man props. Never loses his cool even in the face of profound Evom catty stupidity.

OP, nice numbers for such a mild setup.

Thanks for posting this up. You rarely ever see anyone post up bolt on VIII setups anymore. I wish CBRD was closer to me. I haven't seen one thing that would turn me away from them. Just curious if you don't mind saying, how much does a tune like this cost from them?

Thanks for all the comments, everyone. I didn't think many people would be interested in my mild set up, I was just so excited about how my car runs that I had to post!

I don't think Chad will mind me saying since it is listed on the website; the tune is 385.00, which is competitive with the other few places I looked.

Thanks, again. Looks like I'll get to try out the new tune in a (just for fun) snow-X next weekend (Feb 8).
