So fast it poops itself!!

hahahaha! All joking aside, yesterday I hit up DB Performance in Rogers, MN to get my cars tune adjusted for the addition of my AMS FMIC and Megan o2 housing as well as add a 110 tune.

Last time I was at DB I made 313whp / 307wtq at 23psi. With the addition of an AMS FMIC and Megan o2 Housing I made 319whp / 317wtq at 23psi. We also made a conservative tune for road racing which makes around 308whp and 292tq.

Now onto the fun part...so deciding against E85 I decided I'd do a 110 tune for track days, and weekend fun days. Yes it's expensive, but I can always switch back to a pump gas tune if my laptop is with me. Anyways we got up to 346whp and 345wtq at 27psi tapering badly to 20psi at 7400rpms. The turbo was just running out of breath. I turned up the boost a little bit more and all the sudden the graphs went weird. We suspect that my stocker clutch with 50,000 miles on it just couldn't handle it anymore. So at that Shane stopped tuning so that we didn't make matters worse. Shane thinks we should have been able to get the car into the 350-360whp range before the turbo was completely maxed out.

I backed the boost down to 26psi, had Shane do another pull and the clutch held fine, so either it was getting hot or it just got to the point where it couldn't hold anymore power.

All aside even at 26 psi on the 110 tune, its a whole new animal. Unfortunately, I only kept it at that, then when I got home I turned the boost back down to 23psi and loaded my pump gas map back in. I can't wait to get a new clutch now!

Before anyone knocks the numbers. This was done on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno. A friend of mine making 312-315ish here also did some runs on a DynoJet and made 355-360.

Here are my engine mods --

AEM Short Ram Intake
AMS Front Mount Intercooler
AMS Manual Boost Controller
AMS Polyurethane Front Motor Mount
ARP Head Studs
Cosworth M2 Cams
Cosworth Head Gasket
DC Sports Downpipe w/ Cat Delete
Greddy Ti-C Cat Back Exhaust
Megan Racing o2 Housing
Nisei Intercooler Pipes
PTE 1000cc Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump

Onto the graphs.

Yeah that is big number for a real DD graph. Do they use any correction factor?

Nice figures. In the UK they estimate 24% transmission losses on a DD... so 300 atw on a DD should be around 300 / .76 = 394 at the crank.

Not sure on the correction, but to give you an idea, a bone stock Evo IX makes between 220 - 230whp on this dyno.

You got it! On Thursday we got 8" of snow so there was a lot of snow caked on even after I took it to the car wash.

Only in MN do you see icicles hanging off the back bumper during dyno tuning!
