Evo 8 Results

Well I wanted to post my results of my Dyno Tuning at Atlantic Motorsports, first I would like to say they are a really good bunch of guys over there, Dan the tuner was really helpful and helped me find alot of my problems, bad MBC, Bad Gas, Bad BPR8ES gapping on my part. I would also like to state that my car has run several 12.6 second passes on my base tune, my mods since the base tune (my own) include an injen hard pipe kit, intake, TBE with Test pipe 3" all the way, Walboro 255, ACT 6 puck clutch, streetlight flywheel, net timing belt and water pump, etc. I have some Kelford 272's with ARP Headstuds that I am dying to put in, but don't want to until I figure out why my car's best run tuned is a 13.9..... That is really slow for me, great reaction time .50 and under crappy 60 foot times, all launches done around 6750 not dropping the clutch just a slight slip and go..... My usual 60' times are in the 1.75 - 1.69 range and I will run 12.6 to 13.0 in 100 degrees on 93 pump gas. I think my stock turbo is starting to go.... Anyway here are the corrected (AMS Tuned with new MBC, GAS (93 Shell), and NGKBPR8ES gapped to .032

Keep in mind the dyno with the lower numbers was with a bad MBC...

Nice baseline.

Basically intake + TBE + MBC = 300whp.

Pump gas only? Boost?

Yeah 93 Octane Shell. Which is all I run now. The intake (injen) seem to do nothing to the performance, but my problem is my car is slower than it was a year ago..... Really frustrating. I just think my turbo is spooling up slowly almost 4k before full boost (22 PSI)

Your only at 22lbs on 93? Get a nice ETS intercooler and turn the boost up. You can get over 25lbs with supporting mods on 93! I have lots of friends running 26lbs on 92 on stock turbo.

Why are people running low boost. Its safe to turn it up.... WHY are you guys running low boost levels? Whats the reasoning behind it?

Different tuners tune different ways Mikey... some tuners like to add boost, some like to add timing...

I guess thats true. Because the more timing you add the more the boost drops. Aaron just sent my a detailed dyno graph. I'm posting it, you can go look if you want. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ml#post7314465

If it takes you 4k to hit full boost on stock turbo, you have a boost leak!
