Exact question i was going to ask. I'd be very happy with those numbers on a 9.8 hotside, and satisfied with those numbers on a 10.5.
Are your running stock intercooler?
Meth kit is a nice addition.
How much boost?
What kind of dyno? If they were on a mustang i would be very happy with what you got based on your mods, but they seem to be dynojet numbers basing off what you have done.

If it was tuned by Al at ICS then its a dynojet. But anyways...are u running 100% methanol?

Yeah I would assume at 30 psi the WG is probably not shot.

I would say maybe the stock 8 is running out of steam. Solid all the way to RL? Definitely graph's help, hard to diagnose a problem you can't see.

264 is kind of a smaller cam, would not expect a ton of hp off those..

dude i feel your pain, im in the same situation. i Dont think its the tuner....im being tuned by TTR (Turbotrix) and ICS (dynoflash) is also a good tuner. check the turbo.. also what BOV are you running, it can cause more havoc than you think

I think the Evo 8 turbo is just too small. I've been trying to push my stock turbo to hold a 25psi of boost but it keeps dropping to 18psi up top. Is this normal?

What's the deal with Big Al? I've heard from a couple of Evo owner here in NJ that he's a no no!!! He's from ICS right? Wich I think is a Euro tuner! Plus why drive that far if we have Ivy and Turbotrix next door!

No that's not normal.

Your turbo is too small if it drops off. Keep it around 22 psi, or add meth, and keep it at that psi.

That's sucks, I really like the response on this turbo. I have a 30r on stock that I'm hoping not to use if I ever step on 11's with this stock evo 8 turbo

Yeah, its a tough choice, big turbo = big power...........late.....

30r should still be pretty moderate spool time, I am guessing around 4-5k....? But I don't have first hand.

If I could atleast hold it on 25psi I would be in 11's. But it keeps dropping on top! I'm thinking on just using a race gas and bump my timing more but I really want this to be a daily driven 11 sec car

Yeah, add meth + add timing = more power. Cooler charge from the meth will definitely help that little turbo out.

Im running a hks bov but connected back to the intake manifold for any problems of the car tryin to die down.. Im also runnin 100% meth.. But surprisingly 330 whp is too low. Im hoping for a good diagnose on thursday.. Their goin to check under the hood if the problem is the turbo. But how do u know if a turbo has gone bad or goin bad? I have a little more patience and faith on my tuner.. Jus goin to wait out and see..

turbo has about 75,000 thousand miles of daily driven, partially street racing but never been to the track.. mine is 10.5 hotside. it feels like the turbo takes a while to spool.. but can't really tell when the meth starts to kick in.. it makes alot of difference but blinds you to what the problem really is

A 9 turbo is a little bigger than an 8 right?

A bigger turbo at the same psi will make more power.

That's not horrible by any means...I'm talking out of my *** BUT given that you are making 385 tq and 330~ whp it seems like the turbo runs out of steam up top, which is NORMAL for a stock 8 turbo. Dyno charts would help but this seems to be the issue, just need a bigger turbo to get the big numbers

why not go back and have them check the mechanical items you listed to rule those out or get fixed? i would assume by Al mentioning that there may be mechanical issues that your car is not producing the numbers he would expect. its all speculation at this point... what did he think your car should have produced for numbers?
