Since al chimed in - I have a question - which maybe related to your tuning etc.

Whats with the crazy 8's in timing on your mail in flashes? My car had a mail in flash from you. PO gave me the receipt and all. I made some changes so it was time to get in to the ecu and update it... and I saw the HUGE block of timing -- all being solid 8's...

IM confused? Is this a fail safe for mail in flashes?

Stock Turbo
HKS high powered exhaust
Skunk 2 dp and testpipe
greddy spec b MBC
ACT XTSS and Prolite flywheel
HKS air intake
HKS bov with upper piping
walbro fuel pump
defi boost/oil/exhaust gauge
forced performance cams installed by icsperfromance
Aquamist methanol injection with gauge installed by icsperformance

can it be possibly the turbo is shot? or waste gate actuator needs to be replaced? pls help
car has strait pipe no catalytic converters. i don't know..
thank you

First off, Let me fix your typing.-done.

Now on to your mods..

The HKS HI-Power- Doesnt this flake down to a 2.5 inch where it connects to the downpipe? That doesnt help air flow.

What year is your Evo? 9.8 hotside? You are running an VIII turbo, and if your running the smaller version, then that doesnt help anything either!

50/50 Meth? or 100%

You were tuned by Al.

Hope this helps!

I would change this piece ASAP.. "HKS bov" This unit is known to lose power.. It might not be holding all the boost that you're throwing on it. Change it to a Stock Metal MR on.. or get a synapse or Tial Q one. I'm telling you from experience.. not just spouting things out.

The type of map which you make reference to has not been in use for a long time, at least several years

I am happy to provide you customer service - best way to have your mapping reviewed is send me a copy to info@dynoflash.com with a list of your current modifcations and some details about when your purchased the mail in reflash and your contact data

I concur the HKS bov is really a unit with many problems - not one of HKS 's better parts

I prefer the Forge RS

Sounds like a shot turbo or fuel delivery problem, what RPM is the car spooling at? I didnt reseal my Fuel pump properly (during my walbro swap) and had a similar issue. Went back and fixed it (put the black rubber seal on the fuel pump nozzle, then reinserted into the fuel pump assembly) and now running 330whp on a stock 8 10.5HS turbo with 24 psi and pump gas.

He has plenty of fuel

The turbo spools at least 500 rpms too late

Well for anyone following the story . . . .

Today Tristan came back and sure enough his turbo was shot

The turbine wheel was developing cracks and little bits were falling off the edge - the picture just cant show all the details

I did not have time to redyno the car but the boost was comming on a lot harder with a turbo swap of a used Evo 8 turbo and it was achieving more boost also

This was the first time in a long time that I came up with a blown turbo diagnosis and it felt good to see that I was right on the money with my call

My customer purchased the car used and I would say that at some point the car was probably run very lean with high egts which resulted in thermal damage to the turbine wheel - no doubt it would have eventually fallen totally apart
