opinions please :)
nice deal on the IX valve. I might crush mine this weekend. I think Im pushing the limit of it uncrushed
TTR should let you send them a log and do a touchup for free. Would be very nice of them IMO.
Most tuners will do this.

******UPDATE******
Got back from Sean Ivey and my car put down after the retune; 366whp 342lbs @24psi
old numbers and tune from TTR ; 340whp 328lbs @ 26psi
very pleased with how the car did this time around and Sean Ivey is an awesome dude.
now my car seems to hesitate or slip its clutch with the new found power....i cant catch a break, going to check the car thru and true and check for anythig thing that might be causiing my inability to put this power down. I do have an ACT street disk (HDSS) and a fidanza flywheel. mabye my car sucked something up?.....lol

lol thanks, i just read up the stats on the clutch and it says its rated for 497lbs and 450hp, im no where near that and this clutch is still very young with a handfull of launches....
i hope my car isnt pulling any timing..

Ivey told me that i was quite lean on spool up (becuase i was tuned up on the leaking valve) now my car is fine with the valve. (its a crushed 9 valve and yes its the only difference)
HOWEVER.....
i think my hesatation is due to the valve leaking.....yea i believe my crushed 9 valve is leaking at 25-24 psi, i pull super hard in any gear, but as soon as i shift, the car feels like its pulling a tractor trailer, good feeling gone. the last time i felt this i was on the 8 valve, but it was all the time.
seems the valve will hold fine if you start in the gear, which is why i believe my car is fine on its tune and why Sean ivey was able to tune my car correctly, however i believe that when i shift during a run, im allowing the valve to open between shifts and when i get back on it, the valve is not strong enough to over come the boost that comes almost immediatly after the quick vent of the valve.......of course this is me using only common sense and nothing more. im going to find someone to lend me a valve that will hold boost to test my theory, unless someone has any other useful information

Does it kind of feel slower as soon as you hit the gear then catch up?
if so, i think you might be seeing some clutch slipping.
I notice this when trying to attempt to think about speed shifting. lol
regular shifts at higher RPM's (less fast) seem to be ok.
Just an idea. Im curious as to if my valve is bleeding at all. seems to hold pretty well as far as i can see, but we all know with boost leaks, that what you feel and whats really happening can be totally different stories.

exactly what i thought at first, but then i launched it acouple times and that car rips at out the hole, i put it in fourth and third and ripped it to see if it would slip under load, nothing.
the clutch is rated at 497lbs of torque and 450hp...im at 366whp and 342lbs im no where near the limits of the clutch, and the clutch is only acouple of thousand miles old and about 8 lanuches total.
completley right, i might do a boost leak test and see if i have any leaks. im also going to do the valve test.
i only have two days until evo/sti shootout, if i cant figure this out, im not running

I don't think that valve is leaking, but who knows.
If you have some issue give us a call I can take a look at it again.
I don't think it's anything tuning related but perhaps I can help you diagnose the issue, without charging you a retune fee you just paid so not to worry.

hey sean, saw you today for the shootout
i had a massive boostleak at one of the cuplers, one of my clamps gave out. john and i figured it out and i was able to run redic times today for the weather and how the general population did.
love the way the car feels, its a beast. thanks again!

nice find man!
for ref I crushed my IX valve over the weekend and did a clutch and wondered why it felt like a diff car. Like a total monster now.
Apparently Im holding much more boost. I set at 25 before and would hit 25 and bleed to 23. now on initial hit I touched 31 and just got out of it quick.
So either a vac line came off the WG or crushing the BOV did it and I need to back off the gain on my EBC.

pretty good numbers...when i got tuned i was tuned on cali 91 octane fp red 27psi at 4200ish rpms...i made 385whp n 355tq, in a 117* dyno room temps... so heat in a dyno room is gonna have a big effect on peak numbers...however driveability will be much better on cooler days or nights , i shuold be over 400awhp on a cold night...however im just on hks 272 cams now if ur lookin to break into the 400 range i would suggest bigger intake mani n tb, or get them both ported.... should help the engine breathe with those cams....
