An EVO 3 trans is the best trans out of the 1g EVO's as well as the DSM's and GVR4's. It's best if you can get the rear ring and pinion out of an EVO 3 as well, and run the EVO 3 final drive. It keeps driveline parts together longer because of putting less load on the drivetrain. The rear end and T-case were the same for over 14 years untill it recently broke from running 26" slicks. The only downside is these parts are getting harder and harder to find.

Well not really that high considering where its happening.

11.5* at 7k or so

14* at 10k

by comparison:

Standard Evo E85 timing at something normal for boost- 29psi

13-14 degrees at peak torque (6k in this case)
19* by 7500 and holding to 20-21 out the top (assuming 9k rev limit)

Other variables can be head flow, intake manifold design, compression ratio, etc.

I see you have a Q45 TB. How does the car idle? Or did you have to do something to get it to idle correctly? Im trying to get mine to idle right on my GSX, without having it idle at 1300rpm and occasionally surge to 1500-1600rpm.

Congrats on the numbers! Bad ***!

Great build!

Also running an "old evo" in sweden.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfbuQIurnYA
That run was with 8 bent valves (bad trapspeed). Also running full interior, E85 fuel , 39psi boost.
Stock evo head (same as 2g) with no porting at all. Holset "truck" turbo.
Weight is 3200lbs with me in it.
Timing is 15' at top and 12' at torque peak.

But i use the eclipse final gear in gearbox and rear diff (3.545 , evo1-3 = 3.909)

Remember about the gearbox that the "true" evo3 box uses a pinion with 63teeths and uses a 1.074 transfer case. The same as 98-99 eclipse
The evo1-2 boxes uses 64teeth pinion with 1.090 transfer case.

Evo2-3 uses the same gearset, excluding the pinion.

Not completly true
Evo3 uses a diffrent ratio in the transfer case as well as pinion in gearbox.
Evo1-3 all uses 3.909 in rear end.

I'm able to supply parts for evo1-2-3

Cheers.
