857 AWHP on Straight Pump E85

So I took my EVO to the dyno on Saturday for some tweaks and to see just how far I can push E85 out of the pump without mixing any other gas in with it. The first pull at 35 to 37 psi, with the boost fluctating, It put down 760 with a safe 11.5 a/f ratio. I then turned it up to 39 to 41 psi and it ripped the rollers with 855 awhp with the a/f still in the 11's. I then went to pull out some more fuel and my lab top locked up! What the ****! I then said screw it, let's just turn up the boost and see what happens. It put down 857 awhp at 45 psi with the a/f's still in the 11's just before it blew off something and was boost leaking bad. With my time on the dyno up, and other cars scheduled to go on I decided to call it a day. After pulling the car off the dyno I noticed the rear tires were rubbing the fenders pretty damm bad. The outside edge of the tread was shaved and sticky as hell. I have no idea how much loss it was creating, but it sure as hell wasn't helping. I boost leak tested it once I got it back to the shop. The line running to the boost controler and blow off valve ripped open. After fixing it I took it on the highway to see how it's pulling. The boost hit about 44 psi and I think I gave myself whiplash in second gear. E85 is nuts! $2.09 a gallon for what looks to be 900 awhp at this boost level. Insane!

I'd like to thank www.apmracing.net once again for helping me convert the car over to E85 corn liquor.

The dyno had a broken rpm pick-up so I couldn't print out rpm or torque. It's hitting full boost just before 7,000 rpm and I was spinning the engine to 9,500 rpm.

My car is an EVO 2 with an EVO 3 short ratio gear box. If I roll into it at 4,000 rpm yeah, it's laggy, but if I downshift the power is right there. Also recovery time between shifts at that boost level is like a 16g! I'm not kidding at all. It's all about keeping the rpm in the powerband and how you drive it. On a 2.0 built motor that spinns to 10,000 rpm it's not a problem at all.

Do you realize your speaking to someone who has gone over 200 mph in his Evo? How many people have done 200+ btw? I think Simon Norris did it. Not sure who else.

I believe that is Mike Reichen's Evo and not Yusuf's; anyways this car is pretty sick and once in boost has to be a rocket. I love the corn syrup as well
