I see them things all the time here at work..... we use them to crank our C-130 engines....lolololololol

Amazing work guys. I thought a BW S400 was big enough shoved in an EVO, but thst thing is something else. Looking fwd to see it mounted. Again, amazing work

This turbo is not for an evo.
It never gonna spool.
It don't think the exhaust gases can even rotate this wheel at idle!!!

The 1300hp turbo is good enough for me.i don't think i need more power.

Amazing work.

Spyros, out of curiosity, are you going to run balance shafts in the billet block? how are you going to handle the 2nd harmonics with such a high rpm engine ? or do you just take them into account when calculating the stresses on the engine mounts and other parts?

Hi,

The turbo is for the prostock Linde Markus project.

We are about to finish the 2000hp project, i will update sortly.

Next post i will show to u the best and lighter flywheel from billet or titanium for 4g63 suitable for most known 3.5'', 4.5'',5.5'' and 7.25'' clutches on the market. 2-3-4-5 plate systems capable.
From 750lb-ft capacity to 1780lb-ft.

Lekonna, no balance shafts. All the parts are 0 balanced it self.

Ok, naturally you balance all your components together.

though i think it is impossible to balance 4 stroke inline 4-cyl by just balancing the parts since the pistons coming down will be moving at different acceleration than the pistons going up. (due to the geometrics involved) so piston travels different length near TDC than BDC at same crank angle.

It seems to me that most engine builders eliminate the balance shafts, but i'd like to know more about the theory why it is done. The rotating mass is not that big since the weight is very much near the center of the shafts, they do run at 2x the speed which might cause lubrication problems on a high rpm machine though.
