Spyros,

What is the weight of your custom made rod?
How high have you revved it?

Thanks for showing your work

At 150mm stock length weights 654grm > 693 > 712 - 1000-1200-1500hp.

Depend always the rod to stroke ratio as matter the rpms and many more conditions, and the rod bolt strength also. To determine rpms must determine first the load that must carry. This is accomplished by calculating the dynamic force caused by the oscillating piston and connecting rod. This force is determined from the classical concept that force equals mass times acceleration. The mass includes the mass of the piston plus a portion of the mass of the rod. This mass undergoes oscillating motion as the crankshaft rotates. The resulting acceleration, which is at its maximum value when the piston is at top dead center and bottom dead center,
is proportional to the stroke and the square of the engine speed.
The oscillating force is sometimes called the reciprocating weight. Its numerical value and calculated like this: piston weight + rod weight / 3 x stroke x rpms2

As matter the rod bolts, the rods come with arp 2000, and we change them to L19and above 10.500 to custom age 625. Our titaniums +12000rpms equiped with AerMet. arp 2000 are yeld strength 180.000 and 220.000psi tensile, L19 200.000 and 260.000 tensile, custom Age 625 230.000 with 280000 tensile, and the ultimate AerMet with 260000 and 310000 tensile. AerMet cost close to the steel rods it self. mostly used from f1 engines from 2004 and are proven moving 230grm rods and 280grm pistons to 20-210000rpms for many hours.
At NA high rev we use Ti that are 150.000 with 170.000tensile.
At our website we will have more infos of Custom Age 625 and AerMet, prices and available thread sizes.

Thumbs up

Spyros,

What is your opinion on the unique design of the Pauter rod, compared to the more traditional H and I beam.

Thanks

For kicks...

On your engine that rev's to 11k+
What is the rod weight, material, and c-c length?
What is the piston weight, material, compression height, & compression ratio? (including or not the wrist pin or ring pack weight)

this ought to be entertaining

Have you ever done any transfer case work for Evo's? Billet T/C cases, larger ring and pinions?

What do you typically use for a lightweight driveshaft? Do you guys use carbon 2 piece shafts? If so can you give some info on them?

Have you considered using "skulls" for the chambers?

Just a quick post testing new wheels, left our new high flow T3 custom 11blade extendet tip comp wheel (outflowing any T3 known combination) available from 64mm and above, and right our new 10blade extended tip comp wheel for our new understroke 4g63 project, hoping to be the baddest turbo we had test to 4g63 platform so far.

Spyros, what do you offer in terms of titanium aluminum turbine wheels?

Could you put a titanium turbine wheel in one of the aftermarket turbochargers sold here in the states? Like the ball bearing FP Black or REd...or the CBRD BBK... etc?

^ Don't bag the US companies, or anyone really - I am loving what Spyros and co are doing but a lot of it comes down to the funds of customers and what they are doing. The point where I will get really really excited is when we start seeing some evidence of the sum of the parts proving to work to make a fast car - which is really what we're all after.

This isn't hating either, just with the specs being thrown around and claims of how far ahead things are - one wonders when some performance records are broken to show its not just expensive parts and neat looking dyno plots... if that makes sense?

I tell u for last time, there is no US and Europe for me. I have friends and customers and suppliers from US as well, same good or bad companies there are in Europe and worldwide too. We support them and they us. Tuning is our passion, anyone no matter the language or continent can work with us.

MrLith, we don’t care to prove anything to anyone. We just show here some parts we use to our race engines from a higher tuning level as matter materials and theories. ¼ mile is just a small small piece of the pie we do. If u see above one of my post some successes last 10years u will understand the size of the piece of the pie that called ¼ mile. U just looking this that we don’t have the appropriate tracks here to support our engines. As we speak near u, will be someone that have one of our setup and can prove to a regular drag strip that there are not only shiny and expensive parts that we don’t have anything better to do and spent our $ and time for nothing. Keep reading this topic and u will see as time passes.

Sure
U will not believe how this 64mm comp wheel flows, makes comon shiny 67mm wheels seems small. sorry for this but its true.

The thing is that "billet" loose the meaning when the marketing starts sell turbos.
Practicaly a billet aluminum wheel is not lighter than cast. Mostly hipped cast wheels (Hot Isostatic Pressing or HIP which is a process that subjects the wheel to extremely high pressures and temperatures 8,000 psi and 700 degrees in an inert atmosphere. This process reduces internal voids and improves the grain of the material increasing strength) are lighter than common billet aluminum. "Billet" for me is just a piece of raw aluminum stock that has been either roll formed or forged into shape, from cast the shape and blade thickness cant be done but only from 5 axis cnc and second that cast cant handle over some pressure = rpms speed - strength problems.

The mechanical properties of cast aluminum are limited as far as strength. For these reasons a cast wheel has to be designed with these issues in mind and the blades are made thicker and the center hub chunkier and stronger. So billet have smaller hub = bigger inner vane diameters but same outside diameter so moving more air per rotation and thinner blades than cast.

Thats the real meaning of it. I dont realy know why the fasion of shiny "billet" wheels came out. We use billet wheels from Ti and 7076 at least 10years when we wanted to built something special for cetrain use only. I ensure anyone that billet exact same size and shape flows like cast. We have test and test and test. Sorry from the known companies that i destroy this adv campaign and marketing issues but we dont want to lie to our customers. We built billet wheels specialy for every special test or project and for sure there is anything in cast for us.

I cant write for hours about this.....
