Update: Fixed the issue. Turns out it wasn't a SD problem at all. I had the progressive fuel pump controller start PSI a little too high. Turned it down a couple psi and now everything is smooth on tip in and boost ramp up.

Glad it was a simple(r) fix.

This car trapped 128mph last night.

Full weight (bumper beams, full interior, etc all intact)
Stock 6 spd
Stock cams
Street tires

We'll see what is capable of once the owner gets used to the new power more.

I myself have done a buttload of time consuming back to back swaps to see what works and what doesnt. I dont feel I am just guessing this car should have seen gains. take it for what its worth.
If you do have, would you post before and after dyno sheet and mods list please. Thanks.

Sorry to Hijack the thread, but would happen if an Evo IX FQ320 was mapped with speed desity without a Maf using a stock airbox?

If i inserted in a K&N with this cause any harm? I know the AFR would change but how majorly?

Wouldn't make much sense, the stock airbox is more of a restriction then the MAF. Plus you would need to figure out how to use the airbox without the maf, since the MAF bolts up to the airbox with a non standard opening.

I tested this and got totally different results. I did a car at 26psi that would not take more timing and when we switched to SD I was able to run 2* more and between that and the increase in airflow resulted in more power. Just getting rid of the MAF was 13whp. David saw similar gains as well on his car that he recently tested.

Yep according to the mapper the car would make more HP without the MAF connected.

Anyways i did the test myself last night . The car does not like the K&N RC-4700 cone filter. The air intake is much greater over the stock one and the car was not boosting correctly as well as the BOV sound like a re circulating one.

I put the stock air box back on and she was back to normal....ermm pretty dumb question but i would not loose any mapping settings since the AFR's could have changed when i fitted the new cone filter?
