thats just ridiculous that you list "auto-x" as a discipline for a 700whp evo

wow, its nice to see someone at high elevation especially considering how hard it is to judge mostly all the set ups on evom because they are at low elevation or sea level. do you have a boost log? what housing are you going to? any other helpful info for the few of us that are at high elevation?

If you read the previous thread I created all info is there

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/6339267-post21.html

this is a 3rd gear pull and I can hit 35psi by 4500rpm with my new setup on these 280 kelford cams.
The cams have cost about 100-150rpm lag compared to the GSC S2.

Housing I am on now is a 1.06 ar and going to try 1.16 ar.. dial the cams back a bit a hopefully there is not much more lag.

I agree with you people dont realize that altitude is a killer on turbos..
Sea Level = faster Spool, More air, More efficient Turbo, More Efficient Intercooler.

ive read your old thread numerous times lol definitely want to know everything along the way with your car since we are both at high elevation. i totally agree with you, majority of evo owners dont understand how bad altitude effects things. i was just asking because i wanted to see what the kelford 280s did with your set up. 35psi by 4500rpm at that elevation is awesome! now i guess im interested to see what the 1.16 housing does lol

I will keep you updated bud.
Geoff reckons it a Back pressure issue due to e85.. all I can tell you is that if the 40r could maintain 38-40 psi and redline it will make 800hp easy and stupid torque..

We gonna try the 1.16 housing, and hopefully it will work good. with out sacrificing to much lag
otherwise I stick to the 1.06 housing and just keep it as is, either way 700hp as a street car is madness any ways.. don't know why I am chasing more numbers.

I still think that the altitude is a prob, the bigger housing will help for sure.
Man pity I am not at sea level as damn at sea level this thing will spool 300-400rpm sooner, so torque peak would be at 4500rpm meaning 40psi @ 4100rpm-4200rpm..

so what exactly did the kelfords do for you powerwise and with the top end compared to the gsc s2? were you able to test them at he same level you did with the gsc's?

hard to say as I think that the kelfords can flow the air.

the turbo with this housing cant supply it.
When I was running the GSC S2 we never went over 31 psi so it very hard to say.
One thing of note is that torque peak and peak power is at the exact same level as the S2.

torque is an expression of hp, so if we can get this turbo to hold 35 psi @ 8k then the kelfords will really help i Think, and peak power will go from 6800rpm to 7500rpm and we should have a flatter curve as well.

I am still hungry for more power out of my 4088. I would like to see 45psi and see what numbers I get, then maybe try 50 psi is she will hold.

Once we get the IM and the new UICP I will throw her back on the dyno. The car already rips. Just want to see it with more boost.

As far as I know Mitch is not coming back up here. We had a good time tuning yours and mine too bad we never met but still a good time.

Tobz will be doing my tuning from here on out.

What turbo are you going with now?

Ya it's just so fast. Just that little spool and shes gone. I said it before but the UICP I had from AMS was crushed so I felt we were leaking air and also the HKS SSSQ was leaking also. Both are being replaced. I just needs some funds now. It's the only part I am waiting on....a new 3" UICP and a Tial BOV

I am sure we will meet and I will take you for a ride or let you drive it. It's winter time so the car is parked and I have a car cover over it and have not seen it for a few months. I think it's still red.
