CA$H gets 500

Matt has been working hard over the last year to break 500whp on his combo. Currently he is running a pump meth car with an FP Red, GSC VIII 272s (predating the S2s), PTE880s, Nisei FMIC with ETS Magnus piping, Magnus cast intake, Boomba 75mm TB and 1.0mm Aquamist Meth kit (about 900cc). A Buschur Racing 3" TBE rounds out the mods and the tune is an SD conversion tuned by us.

Well it took a few whacks at a different boost controllers and finally going back to a simple stock actuator and Hallman MBC but the results were well worth it-

Nice! Congrats. Stock actuator? Why not a Forge?

Aaron, do you think the stock actuator keeps the spikes down to let the boost controller actually do its job, or did you guy preload the **** out of it?

The car wouldnt boost consistently with any of the actuators other than stock. The Forge WGA and MBC are now desk ornaments. No additional preload to get it boost as is.

Yes, Stock head, pistons, rods, rod bolts. Only thing done in the motor is (old GSC) cams and ARP head studs.

If you want to get more **safely** out of your Red. Should do drop in's or a motor job.

Magnus V5 is not the best bang for buck mod, but from tons of research yes, it is way better through out the power band than a ported stocker. {B^>
