Good numbers! Can't wait to get my BBK. Will I need to switch out my hallman boost controller?

^I prefer the MBC over the electronic counterparts. The boost stays more consistant during extreme conditions.

Not bad. How did the re-tune go?

Definitely see if you can get more boost in there. How much timing/AFR were you running on top when it started knocking?

Hey guys, Got retuned at Boomba today.

I should start by saying something about the weather in Chicago today. When the car was on the dyno, it was over 90 degrees out and the humidity was such that less than an hour after the car got off the dyno, the skies opened up and we had the worst storm in a long time. The power was out at almost every intersection on my way home. So substantially hotter than last time, probably more humid too. But I digress.

Devin bumped the boost at spike to around 25 psi but left it to taper to around 22 at redline, like before. His explanation for this was that the car was knocking up top. It picked up 30 lb-ft and around 30-40 whp mid-range but actually made 4 whp less at peak. It is important here to look at the power curve and not just the peak numbers, because it is definitely pulling harder now throughout almost the entire rev range.

The goal now is to figure out why it is knocking so I can run more boost up top on pump gas. The potential is definitely there with the BBK. Thanks Chad for making an AWESOME turbo. I'll take 330 lb-ft at 3600 rpm any day of the week.

Can't tell you exactly how much boost, but here is what the BBK can do on 91 octane with a tuner like GST behind the wheel.

Of course you don't need to, but with the proper tuning it will probably hold boost better with a 3-port EBCS.

Don't take it personal but there is absolutely no sense to actually go nuts with that extra bolt ons(probably like $4000-5000) is you are only running 22-23psi.
I can make more power(I am making more power) with less of your stuff on the stock turbo. What is really the point of adding all the stuff then?

You need to get a competitive tune and get the boost up where it belongs.

Still kinda low. I'm making more on my stock turbo and S1 cams as well. Weird. Wonder what your AFRs and Timing looks like.

You are also pushing 7-10 more psi then him also..with e85.

I Think he just wants it to be safe and make power without crazy boost levels.

Carlos - Don't judge the power by the dyno as all read different. I have gained 50 - 70whp with the BBK over my stock 9 turbo and imagine the OP is at least up 40whp from his stocker...

I suggest you try another tuner.

I want to make as much power safely as possible. I have no issue with turning up boost if the car responds positively.

I suggest you get a evo and stay off the evo forums. Devin has tuned many fast cars around the Chicagoland area.

There is obviously room for improvement, it all boils down to how the op wants the car to perform. Seems like there is some knock issues that need to be strightend out before higher boost/power is achevied on 93.

The knock issue will get sorted out and the car will be back on the dyno. Damian call me when you get a chance so we can make arrangements to get this taken care of. Over all i think the car has made great power considering its still on low boost but as usual its no stopped there we will get to the bottom of this so Devin can work his magic.
