BBK Full + GSC S2s + Grimmspeed EBCS + Boomba Racing

Well, I finally got all of my hard-earned parts installed thanks to Strictly Modified and we took the car over to Devin at Boomba Racing to get tuned.

The car baselined a few weeks before at 278 whp and 284 lb-ft. Mods were the following:

DC Sports downpipe/testpipe
GReddy Ti catback
Perrin filter (stock intake pipe)
AEM Tru Boost (24.2 psi spike -> dramatic falloff)
AMS tune

The following was added:

CBRD BBK Full (ported)
Grimmspeed 3-port boost solenoid
GSC S2s
GSC Beehive valvesprings
ETS 3.5 inch FMIC with 2.5 inch lower/upper piping
SpoolinUp COP ignition
Perrin Complete Intake
Buschur / AWD Motorsports ported/coated exhaust manifold
MAP o2 dump
Precision Turbo 1200cc injectors
Walbro 255 fuel pump
ARP Headstuds
Denso IKH24 sparkplugs

The results were 347 whp and 297 lb-ft at only 22.6 psi. The graph shows 347/297, but the car actually did 362/300 without any smoothing. I was unaware that the smoothing factor could drop 15 whp.

As you can see, the Grimmspeed boost solenoid really did a great job holding boost up top. No falloff whatsoever. So the car gained 70 whp while actually dropping nearly two psi. While I can't say I wasn't expecting a bit more, this is a super low-reading dyno and it's important to keep in mind that the 375-400 whp BBK graphs posted here are for cars boosting 25-27 psi on pump, not under 23 like I am.

It's an animal on the street. It did lose a little spool, probably thanks to the cams and not the BBK, but it feels almost identical to stock. There is no comparison to stock at high revs. It just pulls and pulls.

to Strictly Modified and Boomba. These guys not only really know what they're doing, but they're obviously real car guys who want nothing more than to see you reach your goals.

I'm no expert on tuning so I really can't comment on this. Hopefully Devin chimes in.

on 93 you should be able to have a peak of 25 psi and hold more like 23 at redline w/o a knock issue....that single change alone should net you close to another 30 hp....

Ya buddy! Glad you got it together! Great parts combo. More boost man, that turbo is made for pump gas! I ran mine at 24-25psi w/o issue on the stock ignition, and up to 28psi on the SpoolinUp COP. 350 is decent power, a little more boost will get you up in closer to 375, closer to where I'd expect this to be. So many other variables wreck that though, mainly gas quality and motor health.

Glad you like it!

we typically run the bbk's at 26-29 psi on 93 (even road race cars)...

the torque will take a big jump.

I did a 30psi 93 tune about 2 weeks ago in 90 degree heat and it made 398/391

Turn the boost up man...thats almost a waste. Thing should be 25-27psi safely and add another 30+whp and 40+wtq.
