Retard your MIVEC out the top end. By running too much cam advance out the top end you're increasing your dynamic compression and inducing knock.

Very good advise, but its already retarded up top where it knocks. I own a evo 9 so Ive been playing with the mivec tuning for years.
This car just knocks, its a stock motor so the knock sensor was never removed / reinstalled, and its not loose either I checked!!

Heres a dyno sheet from another pump gas evo 9 I tuned, this one obviously didnt have knock issues.

^The spool is awful on that FP Red graph. Even the FP Black is a lot snappier than that usually.

for reference,

we did an evo IX today (78 degrees, 46% humidity apprx)

BBK full ported, CBRD FMIC, perrin intake, stock head and cams, turboback invidia, 1000pte, o2 housing, ported exhaust manifold

26.0 psi 11.6 afr peak 11.4 redline,

368whp/325wtq ( I would have expected 380/345 if the humidity was at 10-15%)

when it was 70 outside and 15% humidity the car made 302whp/290wtq at 23.8 psi

It only fluxuated 20 degrees and went from thunderstorms to sunshine in about 10 minutes today. Isn't that what it's like everywhere?
