yes. Spool time will increase (i.e. slower spool, less responsive).
This is exaggerated in the lower gears. Full boost on my setup in 5th was about 4000rpm, but 1st gear was more like 6000rpm. Full boost in 2nd (23psi) was just after 5000rpm.
I'd recommend testing it before you 100% commit and rip the internal gate out.

When you stop using the OEM flapper, you loose the twin scroll functionality, which is why (at least partially why) these turbos spool so early.

im curious to see what it does with the external and housing. i hope you dont plan on driving it around at high hp tho.. 620/550 should pretty much street sweep 90% in your area. those numbers for 36psi are really good. now youll def want to upgrade suspension

this was with a fp black on a 2.4? theres no way.. that sounds way to laggy. his cars prob producing approx 30psi by 3800~ area, i dont think its going to make it go 1000rpm more lag

Already gone on Mikey's ride.

John makes a good point. Mikey, has Eric estimated lower end hit re: twin scroll?

Yea with that much TQ he is gonna be putting some serious stress on the rear axle's and diff...well pretty much the whole drivetrain

I mean if 275's were too much though I bet some 14lb Buddy Club QF's and 255 NT05's would be about perfect. I happen to know somebody wanting to upgrade maybe

I think he should just drive around on drag radials and put a chute on the trunk...I don't care who you are when you see a chute on a street car I stay the f*ck away

yeah was with a 2.0 and FP Red.
and yes, it was laggy. because of the external wastegate on the internal ports.
My results were logged, and it was 600rpm laggier.
because his car is making 30psi @ 4000rpm, do you think it'll make 30psi @ 4000rpm in 1st or 2nd gear?

no, but looking at my logs i see from a 4k hit in 1st 27lbs by 5500, so i dont know.

believe it or not you would be surprised.. the axles and etc hold up very well if you dont launch. ----- there is no fun driving a car that everyone is afraid of.

My 255/40r17 rt615 tires are not liking life at this hp/tq.

I dug this picture up of the flapper and wastegate hole(s) on our turbos hotside:

As Mikey is talking about carving out the twin scroll casting on his hotside, I'm sure he has already though of this; when you use anything other than the OEM style flapper, it allows the pressure to equalize between the twin scroll sides.

It sure would be nice if FP designed and sold a bit larger twin scroll hotside, something in between the OEM housing and the T3 world.

well next time your in vancouver shoot me a PM and we will have to meet up for a few drinks

it would be interesting to see what these would do against a standard set of S2's
maybe when i max out my current setup i will have to try and get a pair of these cams and fly cut my pistons.. any word if they are actually start producing these like the S2's or are they going to be custom order only

Crappy in comparison. They are a very mild cam thats very old at this point.
