Stock turbo Evo 8 93 pump vs. e-85

Ok, so here is the story behind this one.

Two years ago my Brother Mike Purchased this 03 Evo. This car was used for a lot of testing and has been on our dyno probably 30 times already. Anyhow, he has taken his time building up to a big turbo and making the switch to e-85. Before he was able to finish it he decided to sell the car to help fund a new home for him and his family. Ryan Jenks, A local guy purchased it with everything done minus a big turbo and e-85. After driving it for a few weeks on pump gas and racing it once (ran a 12.2@118 on pump) he decided to have us switch it to e-85. last night Ryan showed up with 10 gallons of magic and we got to work.

After tuning the car we ended up with 436 ft lbs torque and 396 whp! Simply amazing numbers for what this car has done to it. Hope fully we can bring it to the track Sunday and see what it has in it.

Quick run down of mods.
AEM EMS Series 1
single walbro 255
FIC 2150's
FMIC
Upper IC pipe with Tial BOV
Comp 272 cams
Stock 8 turbo with 10.5 hotside
Megan o2 housing
Full 3 inch turbo back
Exedy triple cera matalic
And I think thats about it.

On to the dyno sheet.

Both pulls done with no smoothing on. E-85 was at about 33 psi and 93 oct was at 26 psi. Nothing else was changed other than the fuel, boost and tune.

Enjoy

Nice numbers Em!!

I see that you guy's use FIC 2150's for all your builds .. Are these better then ID2000/2200's or just a different alternative ?

As far as I can tell they work the same but are a bit cheaper.

Damn thats a lot of power from a stock evo8 turbo, does the aem ecu makes a big difference over the oem one, when it comes to making this kind of power?

To me, Yes it does. AEM is very consistent and allows you to adjust timing in smaller increments. It basically makes it so you can get a lot closer to the edge without worrying about things changing from run to run. Don't get me wrong, The stock ECU works well, I just like AEM better.

Wow im really curious to see what this car does at the track. These stock turbos are great and can produce some nice numbers. Great work on this car!

I like the quick spool of the stock 8 turbos. I just upgraded to the 10.5 hotside and was kinda disappointed in what gains I got, but then again, I'm still running the same boost of 23.5psi, before and after. I didn't know the 8 turbo can be pushed to 26psi on 93octane, efficiently?

Also, any reason why the power just falls off after ~5100rpms?
