i mean i have a evo 9 turbo on my evo 9
car made like 390whp on cbrds dyno @ 28 psi (not pump gas)
i feel like the car is slow, but thats just me

dude can do whatever he wants, im just saying the evo 9 turbo is gonna run out of fun especially on pump gas. i like going fast, i understand everyone isnt into that. but even if you save the money and get an hta green, it leaves your option door a lot wider open then a stocker

I've thought some of it out
It seems your kinda of undecided i thought you only wanted pump gas but if you want to go e85 then just get a the 9 turbo and call it a day!

what part of orlando do you live in?

Just look on this forum and you will see a lot of people making decent power with a 9 turbo, for the money, I think it would be a good upgrade, you can up the boost and make power, I seen people making close to 400WHP with a 9 turbo. I have a 2005 evo 8 and have the 10.5 hotside turbo and I am also considering getting a 9 turbo. When you get to a certain point power gets expensive.

For now I wanna stay on pump93. I'll go E85 when we get more gas stations around here that doesn't make me drive 20 miles each way.

I'm in Maitland, you?

Fl mall area.

I doubt we will get more E85 gas stations around here the only one is on the turnpike at turkey lake plaza. I would hope they get more but i doubt it at the time. You should just get the evo 9 turbo if thats what you really want i was just giving my opinion if you wanted even more power later on.

If you are installing it yourself, I'd say go ahead and try the 9 turbo, you'll see 10-20 whp if you have a 10.5h already. If you are getting it installed, do it right the first time with room to grow. I'd suggest a green at the bare minimum because they've been proven to run very well, even the first greens that came out.

Here is a dyno sheet comparison of the evo9 vs evo8(9.8 hotside). Only changes made between the runs are evo9 turbo (ported hotside) and 1200cc injectors (preparing for e85). 2nd Graph is the boost plot, as you can see the evo9 boost plot was done in lower boost also. All runs on 91 octane.

Stop spreading misinformation. 400whp has been done before on 93oct pump gas. Look here.

Thanks for the charts. Were you fully tuned before and after?

Yes fully tuned for all runs. They were not done same day but weather conditions were basically the same.

Just get the IX turbo. Every car, depending on mods and what not will make different #'s, but you will for sure make 350 on a hot day if you have the right supporting mods. I made 385 on a 80+ degree day on my VIII.

400 is possible to do on pump gas but its been pretty hard to achieve. Only a couple of pleople have been able to to it.

Depeding on what he really wants for the car it could be worth it as same as it could just be a waste of money. If thats something that he wants and would be happy with it then he should just go ahead and get the 9 turbo, if he doesnt care about any room to grow in the future!
