Lana gets a jolt, 412 / 365 on STM's Mustang Dyno!

Last weekend, Emery and I decided to play with Lana on the dyno a little bit, and see what more we could squeeze out of her. Previously, the car made 395whp and 340 ft/lb at 32 psi on their Mustang Dyno.

After adjusting the fuel pressure from almost 60 down to 40, and then retuning for about 2 hours, we were able to get my idle just about perfect, and picked up quite a bit of power. At 34 psi, we hit 412 whp and 365 ft/lb. The most interesting part is how the torque only falls around 45 ft/lb from peak torque to 7000 rpm. This things is a monster!

My mod list is available in my signature, but the significant power mods are:

ported stock manifold
ported IX turbo
Driven Innovations intake manifold
Hypertune throttle body
Kelford 280/272 cams
electric water pump
AEM tuned by Emery @ STM

Unfortunatly our track is closed for the season, so unless I travel with the car, my 10.635 @ 128 with the old power will be my record for the year.

Man that is an awesome curve! BTW this still on the 1600cc injectors, or did you swap to something else?

Thanks!

It's still on the Precision 1600cc injectors, FueLab Prodigy fuel pump, -10 feed and -6 return, running e85. I probably will eventually upgrade the injectors, but they are currently working so well, I don't see a need to do so!

I wouldn't be surprised if Emery could tune a car on the stock ecu to go 10's on the stock turbo, but my car has an AEM.

nice work. Do you have an AFR or boost plot with that? Did you make any adjustments to the exhaust cam gear?

Mark,
put that thing on a trailer and go racing.

It hits 34 psi, falls down to about 21 or so at 8000 rpm. I am not sure about the AFR, but probably low 12's?

I have the stock cam gears, so we haven't touched anything there yet!

i was gonna say, the cars gonna feel much nicer since the torque curve is holding longer. night and day difference in the pull feeling in-car.

just curious but why the late spool? obviously i know every car is different but my ported ix turbo setup on e85 with a 25psi actuator im seeing 300wtq @ 3300rpms and seeing 375wtq @ 3600rpms and it keeps ramping fast from there. stock bottom end, buddy club 264/272 cams with bolt ons

Just curious?

its the style of the tune.. rather then a quick spool with a high torque spike that tappers to nothing they choose the route of a slower spool with a longer torque curve.. this will perform better then a early torque spike that falls off faster. also im pretty sure its a stock block, so this is a way better route then spiking the torque since that will put a rod through the block.

Actually, it's because I have huge cams and the large plenum on the intake manifold. Those combined with the small turbo don't spool until later, but since it moves so much air, it really takes off up top! It's great

BTW, I launch at 6600 rpm, and shift at 7500 - 7800, so I never get out of boost until I want to.

post the a/f up i want to see a/f at spool. if its not atleast 12.8-13 it can spool faster. i highly doubt thats all intake and cam related. this is why you dont tune your own car. i can look at the torque curve and see its not hitting peak torque until about 5500rpm.. its also boost/timing related.

EDIT: Dont take my response the wrong way, i wasn't trying to be cocky in any way.
