hey guys, sorry I was busy this weekend and wasn't able to respond until now. Please don't be upset with Zach for not divulging the tuning information. Per the forum rules customers aren't supposed to post their tunes anyway.

I will confirm this, this car eats timing like candy compared to others but I don't know why. I ran the HKS 280 on my old green setup and it did 395-405awhp in DLL which is more conservative than a DJ and VD which we use now, so the power would be similar.

However, I just looked up my timing map on pump with the green and I'm running about 5* less timing than Zach's car. I ran 11.78 @ 116mph in full weight street trim to give you an idea. This was back in 2007 in the summer heat IIRC.

Ya I didnt mean to get rude with him. Same thing I experienced with the guy i was tuning.. his car was taking more timing then my car on e85.

It has to be the cams. When I was on e85 with hks 272 i took really high timing also everywhere compared to how it is now on kelfords.

The hks 272 dowell are so off it throws the crank off so i guess to make up for it the car just eats craploads of timing.

timing at ecu isnt always exactly what engine is actually receiving.
cam gears, cams, shaved head, shaved deck, head gasket thickness, timing belt stiffness, all have a mechanical effect on timing that ecu has no way of knowing about. +/- 5 degrees is not uncommon at all. its important to keep that in mind when wanting to use timing map from another setup that you think is similar.

my next mod will , at some point would most likely be a more agressive cam, ported exhaust manifold and injectors as mine are pretty close to maxed out. the red turbo is a tempting option as well
