PTE 6235R turbo ???? vs 6262

Hello since usually the people who read this section are the people who know since a lot of tuners read this part of the forum.

I got a turbo kit it came with a blown turbo the seller advertised it as a blown turbo he told me it was pte 6262 which was fine. When I send it to PTE though they tell me its actually a 6235R not a 6262. Journal Bearing at PTE are only 200 to fix however since this was ball bearing it was around the 1000 USD ball park to fix.

What can I expect from this turbo and what are the advantages and disadvantages?

I see it kind of the inbetween of a 6262 and an HTA

I believe that used to be called the FS635 when BR sold them. They work pretty good and you would be better off rebuilding that than a JB 6262

This is going to get locked/moved. The 6235 uses a Garrett center section and it's a billet wheel. It uses a 35r turbine wheel I believe.

We have a Evo 9 running a similar spec:

Motor Built by Steve Clark (9000rpm)
-Crower Rods
-CP Pistons
-Balance Shafts removed

- Ported and flowed head
- BC valve springs & retainers
- GSC S2 Cams

- ETS PTE6235RSP Turbo Kit

- Greddy FMIC
- Custom 3inch boost pipes
- HKS 3inch Exhaust

- PTE 1200cc injectors
- Haltech Platinum Pro ECU

- Spoolinup COP

Makes equivalent of about 700hp Dynojet

550 whp on a uncorrected dynojet. Low 5000's you should be at full boost in third gear with a .63 turbine housing.

The 6262 is superior if you are comparing the two. The turbonetics F1 turbine wheel is larger on the inlet side(inducer) than the garrett 35r turbine. Which explains why its a tad laggier but offers better top end flow.

basically w/ the exact same compressor wheel... the 35r turbine will spool better. The F1 (eg. 6262) will have slightly better top end potential w/ a marginal lag vs the garrett wheel.

Top End Will Rip but the lag can be forgotten!
