Evo 8 MR + FP red + 27-28psi + 93oct

This car came to me in limp mode (literally). Car was knocking 4-5 counts random and the knock sensor was going off randomly just cruising around town.

After we tuned the knock sensor, and spent countless hours tuning the speed density to perform smoothly we were able to make decent numbers on 93oct.

Mods are:
Stock block
Stock head
map ss o2 housing
84mm FP red /w 18psi gate
ETS 3" fmic
ETS lower piping
FIC 1050cc
omni4bar
BR ported exhaust manifold
Comp 272 cams
Sparktech ignition
HKS catback
Turbosmart bov
Act clutch
Tephra v7 SD using 4bar only.

The cams are bottlenecking the car. I know this because
I had another customer with similar mods and maf and fp
green hta and gsc s1 that did 429 @ 26psi in 3rd on 93oct.

Virtual Dyno results on the Road: (EDIT: I HAD THE RESULTS SET FOR THE WRONG GEAR BOX AND WRONG TIRE SIZE! THE REAL RESULTS ARE BELOW FROM VD)

(3rd Gear) Actual Dyno results on a dynojet 424xLC2 at Moore Automotive and Performance - www.mooreautomotive.com

Actual Dyno pull loaded into Virtual dyno

Update:
We did try 30psi and it did produce 460/400, but had a consistent 1 count of knock, so i adviced him not to proceed with keeping it tuned that way.. we are going to use 1-2 gal of e85 with the rest 93oct and make our own mix where he is able to make around 480 and leave it at that. this way he doesnt have to travel 50 miles + each time to get e85. more updates later on after we do this special mix of e85 + 93.

yeah I will say the comp cams do get maxed out rather quick... I had them with my red and did 420 dynojet at 29 psi...

I say 500whp on VD once e85 is put in...

Would be nice to see some better cams installed.

The curves are so different on the real dyno. Look at the difference in TQ down low!

I would like to see gsc s2 in the car but i dont think that will happen. it should pass 500 i think.

ya isnt that interesting? lol.. sometimes VD doesnt do so hot as far as simulating the realistic curves.

i wish i had the run file, because the print out makes the lines look more squirrelly then they actually are.

So the real dyno does read lower than the virtual dyno? I bet the corrected number would still be lower than the virtual dyno.

This is wrong, I was in the car logging and the car on run 1 was only 3hp higher on VD but spot on tq and on VD it was on 5 smoothing. This dyno only has up to 5smoothing and was reading uncorrected. I will try to get the VD up and dyno graph of run 1 in 3rd. The boost was adjusted to see if I could get to the level I was on the street and it was unable to get the air needed. When I look into new cams its going to be Kelford 272's more then likely.

S2's would bring this car alive!

The virtual Dyno is a tuning aid, not a dyno. why do people always get worked up about this?

IMO, the VD chart needs more smoothing. When you give it more smoothing, It will read more like the real dyno chart.

no bueno.. heres the max smoothing. im telling you its because of the dyno room temp + lack of airflow.

I'll post the dyno log VD results those are almost dead on.. its scary. I gotta do that later on tho cause i forget where i put them.

Ok cool! The car will definitely wake up with some Kelfords

Nice results as usual...even with said bottleneck, that thing holds boost very well. Tom, how would you rate hks 272 (VIII) in realtion to the comp 272 used here, and with the gsc s1 from the hta green link. They are all pretty similar, but you deal with a large volume of cars, so Im sure you've picked up on some subtleties. I've had the hks cams in my car for a long while, and they have done pretty well thus far, I just hope they don't keep me from the 400whp mark on my upcoming hta green tune...thanks
