Evo 8 w/Evo9 Turbo 28psi E85 338/349 -- Now 378/382

So I am getting close to the end of the tuning on the evo, I will need to work on the afr a little bit, but over all I am very happ with the car, it pulls awesome. I am running ~28psi, ~2* at peek TQ, and ~14* @ 7000rpm. I am sure the car can use a little more timing here and there, but for now the car is running awesome.

Here is my thread with my Map and my Log
http://forum.aempower.com/forum/inde...html#msg142298

Car is self tuned so dont freek out about me posting a vendor map.

05 Evo RS
AEM EMS
AEM 5bar Map
GM AIT
FIC 1100cc
Walbro 255 HP(moded)
Evo9 Turbo
AEM WRX Intake -- Jerry Rigged but looks good(no maf because SD)
Nesei LICP/UICP
Titek O2
3" TBE w/Test pipe
Triggerdisc
Halman MBC
QuarterMaster Twin
Solid Engine Mounts
Gates Timing Belt

Stock Fuel Lines
Stock Fuel Rail
Stock Fuel Regulator
Stock Cams
Stock Headstuds
Stock Bottom End
Stock Crank Pully

So I have been making timing changes working on getting the hp up a little bit. I am getting to a point where I think the car is good, I am sure I can push it further to make some more power but just not sure it is worth it. So I will play a little bit more with the timing, but for this weekend I am all done tuning.

Final results on the TQ are a little high because of some bumps in the road, so it would have been 377-380tq. The peek boost is at 28.65944psi, on the first run it was 27.79307psi, so I am up almost 1psi.

Once I have gone through and cleaned up the fuel and timing map and done a file last pull to confirm the numbers I will post the map on the AEM Forums. All in all, the 9 turbo is doing awesome on a motor with 120k on the clock.

New Screen Shot, first few runs are solo, and next runs are with a passenger.

Looks good so far man, but it's conservative I think at that boost level you should be closer to 370ish??? in any case +1 for tuning your own car

I had about 4* at peek torque, and backed it off a little to see if lost major power, and the power stayed the same. So at peek torque I am at MBT, but up in the top I think I can still add a few degrees of timing. The next big things on my list are going to be some porting and maybe the FP ASP Cover for the 9 turbo. I want to see how far I can push this stock turbo, I know GST can get into the 400whp on there MD so I think there is another 50whp in this car somewhere, I just need to find it.

First thing first is to enjoy the car a little .

I see you haven't modified your internals, is it common to run 28 psi on standard internals in evos in the states?

Not bad for close to stock car. Your exhaust path is probably pretty bottled up if your still running stock cat and all the other stuff.

You could probably add some peak timing in there, 14 is probably on the low side of things.

Either way nice work man.

i am no tuner but that seem really good for basically a stock car. really only the licp would give you any gains, dont think aftermarket uicp's do much.

Sorry forgot to put exhaust. It is a 3" TBE without a cat.

I E85 yes it is very common to run that much boost.

I might take it even further, just want to squeeze more power out at this level first. So I am going to spend the next few weeks playing with the timing and see how those adjustments affect power.

I would also like to hit a real dyno so I can do some further testing on the dyno.

With my battery relocated to the trunk I was able to reduce the weight up front and move it towards the back. this opened up room to allow an aftermarket uicp that would not only be shorter than oem, but also routed further away from the engine, which in theory should help keep the pipe cooler as it wouldnt be abosorbing the heat from the engine as much. So I think the benefits would be the sum of all these over stock, weight reduction from no battery up front, shorter path for air, and cooler intake temps.
These gains on the street arent VERY noticeable but if you track your evo they do make a difference.

You could add timing from 6k and up I'm sure. If you have full TBE and o2 housing you could probably hit closer to 350-380 even with stock cams and FMIC.
